Default Talkback Tuesday

Turning them on for Tuesdays, see what happens. The new site is close and it will feature talkbacks.

Hm, I am not sure how I feel about this development. When I first started talking on the site, it was through the 'Comments' feature. It's fun to see your name beneath an article. When the comments disappeared in January, I was deeply distraught. With that said, in these past months since I've been on the forum, I've grown to value the thoughtful discussions that often occur between the members of the Chud-munity(c).

I am not sure what I'd say these days, on a comment for an article. What would I write there that would be different than what I'd post in the forum for that article? Should I post on both?

Alot of decisions that need to be carefully thought out, on my part. I'd be curious to hear the opinions of other Chewers on the value of a talk back on an article versus posting in that articles thread.

The return of the retardation. Or maybe the re-ramping up of the already existing retardation? Whatever, it's a pretty entertaining retardation and if it brings more traffic I'm behind it.

It looks as though the anonymous commentardery has already begun on some posts.

I'm just gonna run this up the flagpole and see who salutes it: don't even waste the manpower trying to moderate the Tuesday talkbacks. Managing the signal-to-noise ratio seemed to end up as a futile source of distraction last time. Just take the page hits and laugh (at, not with) while the "lol devin raped me" imbeciles play in their own poo.

Great. Hopefully, there will be some sort of control on them.

Looks like the IMDB idiots have shown up so word spreads quickly.

Keep 'em, I say. They're hilarious.

I have to go back to the main site to find out. It's working already!

ETA : Well it was there. So.... someone's editing (AND not your mistake).

FYI: For the record, after much careful consideration, I've decided not to use the talk backs to discuss my thoughts on the content of a news article. Instead I'll stick to the forum thread for that specific article. If I see something within the talk backs that needs commentary on my part (Unreasonable meaness towards Devin, Racism, ETC), then I might consider contributing a breif message in the talkbacks. Outside of the specific circumstances just outlined, however, I'm going to stick exclusively to the CHUD-Forum, and leave the CHUD-Talk-Backs to the talkbackers

I'm extending this. I kinda missed them too, even though 90 percent of them suck.
