I keep mine at 70 during the day, and 68 (!) at night, more or less year round. I live in NW Florida, so during the winter I pretty much just keep the unit off. There might be three mornings/nights a year that I throw the heater on.


ETA: And I feel you on the fish-out-of-water thing. I feel like I'm choking during the summer here, and double that when it's summer and I wander into some asshole's house where it's above 75 or so.

I'm pretty much the opposite, I need cradling warmth at all times, but I also don't like wearing jerseys and stuff indoors, so I have to have the heaters cranked up until it's Tshirt weather inside.

I don't know what the situation is where you are but most of the power here is hydro electric so I figure as long as it keeps raining I'm not doing too much harm.

I pretty much keep my air unit on here all the time. It's Texas, and it's almost always friggin' hot.

During the summer, I tried to be "conservative" with the air unit, and would sleep with the fan on. Yeah, I was sweating so much I just started to sleep with the air conditioner on.

I don't quite get why the "heat" function needs to exist on a thermostat in Georgia in the first place. I've been down there in the "winter" and you barely need a coat.
