I think Harry was the first one to turn the burner up on this bit, just before Comic-Con. Who's telling the truth?

Who cares. I'm more curious as to why there have been three different Punisher movies in existence.

Dr Ultimately, Thanks for posting positive news of Punisher War Zone. I hope this is the Punisher film that not only is good, entertaining as well as ultraviolent, but it makes enough money to spawn a sequel or even a trilogy.

Zollicoffer, the reason for the multiple attempts of adapting The Punisher into a film is that the story of Marvel's greatest vigilante, who is also one of their most interesting characters, deserves a proper adaption for the silver screen. So far Punisher War Zone looks fantastic...I just hope that people at Lionsgate don't cut it to a pg 13, that would be a shame.

Aside for some odd choices (no skull wtf how expensive can that be?) Dolph's PUNISHER is pretty great a Punisher movie.

I love Jane and his enthusiasm for the character, but those fifteen minutes of badass don't hold up against the boring gangster movie that's actually playing.

Luca S., I agree that Dolph Lundigren's...The Punisher is great. Jerron Krabbe was a great villain in the Punisher, The Living Daylights and The Fugitive as well. Kim Miyori was terrific as the head of The Yakuza. Frank Castle's drunken Shakespeare spewing sidekick was not bad, but Louis Gossett Jr as Franks ex partner was fantastic. I love the scene where the Punisher crashes into a casino with the M-60 chattering away killing massive amounts of bad guys.

I think Ray Stevenson (so great in Rome) will be the definitive on screen Frank Castle in Punisher War Zone. It will make a killing at the box office, and Lionsgate will have it's next big trilogy, replacing the Saw Franchise as the top money maker. The

The director's blog certainly makes it seem like things are fucked on this one.

I think for a Punisher movie to work, it needs a lot of Voice Over.

What makes the Punisher comics interesting to read is that he narrates his own adventures as they're happening, and Frank Castle's thoughts are fascinating.

Without that, you're just watching a guy shoot people, which can be entertaining, but not enough.

The only time the Thomas Jane movie felt like a Punisher film to me is when he was narrating his journal entry towards the end. I think this was just before he started wasting dozens of car bombs to magically create a giant flaming skull only helicopter pilots could see.

No, it was one of those things where before you go on your honeymoon in the middle of post-production, you take down everything from your blog. It's a new kind of viral marketing where you pretend the entire studio is flying completely off the rails in order to build buzz about the project.

Then again, the DP has spoken and said that everything is fine... but as has already been mentioned, how did he manage to get stuck doing Lionsgate's damage control?

Yeah, all of this doesn't make any sense. Lexi's blog is a very big tell.

Saw Punisher guy in the overall awful Antoine Fucker epic King Arthur. Good presence and a pretty decent berserker rage. Respect.

Oh yeah? I don't remember him in that, but then that flick doesn't exactly leave much of an impression. I remember Clive Owen, and Keira Knightley looking pretty damn good.

I think Frank is well cast here; it's the tone I'm more worried about.

KING ARTHUR SPOILER

He's the one who uses a huge fucking axe to smash the ice so that all the Saxons fall in. Goes out like a Spartan (cue classic overwrought grieving from Ray Winstone over his fallen bro)

Oh shit! He was.

I remember him more as Titus Pullo from Rome (buy on Amazon!). He was like a wild, barely domesticated beast who literally ripped some dude's tongue out with his teeth. And took on about five gladiators singlehandedly and showed Russell Crowe how it's really done. (And I love me some Gladiator)

Oh I wasn't aware it was Titus Pullo.
Shit, now I have to see this potential piece of crap.

He's one of those many actors I know from HBO shows I wish wouldn't fade away to a shitty tv series...

Wadew1, You're Welcome. Although, I should also thank my parents for meeting, or I wouldn't exist.
