View Full Version : The Halloween Costume Picture Thread
So I had my party last night. My friends and I had tried to do a Kill Bill theme, but half the crew backed out at the last minute. Punks! There were too many people who thought wearing an afro wig equaled a costume, but here are some highlights:

Diva -- doing good things to spandex since 1993.
What can I say? I'm a child of the 80's. Spandex will always be in to me. :)
Nice, Diva. Ben Wallace fucking rules as well. I should have mine up in the next couple of days.

Great costume, Diva. A Kill Bill-themes party would have been the tits. How could no one dress up as Bill? What the fuck?
BTW, that Lil' Jon costume rules. My friends got me doing that again.

Wore my Shaun costume all day but it started to get a bit dirty [my friends place has a cat thus cathair] so I changed back into normal clothing.
Best part of the day was walking up to a Futureshop, buying Dead or Alive Ultimate and walking back, all in my Shaun costume [Foree tag included]
I'll take a picture later.

The guy who went as Ben Wallace was pretty proud of his costume. He is the person who everyone expected not to dress up at all. Can't wait to see your pics.

Yeah, I was pissed the whole Kill Bill thing didn't work. It was still fun though. Although Budd shoots the Bride with a salt shotgun in the movie, we reenacted the fight with both of us using Hanzo Swords (as Anna Nicole looks on in horror).

Also, the best part about the Lil' Jon costume was his necklace, which you can't see in the photo. It was a solid silver wheel with a rim that spun.

A childhood wish was granted as I proudly zipped up my tan, Ghostbusters jumpsuit. And as my inflatible proton pack clung to my back while Beastie Boys' "High Plains Drifter" was blasting from my car speakers, I was pleasantly emersed in my kid-wish-fullfillment-geeky heaven.
Yeah, it's sad.
My fiance was Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas BTW

I realized tonight that apparently I am the only person in my town that saw "Shaun of the Dead". NO ONE got my costume, and I was answering questions all night as to who I was dressed as. I got everything from "Are you some kind of dead tax collecter?" to "Awesome, man, is that supposed to be n***** blood?" (I live in east Texas, by the way.) This was the lamest Halloween in recent memory. There were no house parties, I guess since it was on a Sunday, so my friends and I went bar-hopping. There's always next year to look forward to, though.

I was going to go as Shaun too, but I figured no one would get it. Maybe more people will have seen it and will get it next year.
The best costume I saw this year had to be a guy that had a trash can around his waist. He went as "white trash".

Saw a guy at the concert I went to dressed as Shaun. It actually took me really looking at his costume to realize who he was.
And Gene Frenkle didn't pan out. Couldn't find a cowbell in such short notice. So I took the easy way out and bought a skull shirt, put on black jeans, a long black duster jacket, and colored my hair black and went as the Punisher. My wife went as "Goth girl". Pictures to follow.

Great costume, Diva. That first pic of Hilton and Smith was too funny. Thanks for sharing them (you too, AD). Looking forward to seeing the rest. I wish we could see that "white trash" one. That sounded like it would be good.

So Darth, did you ever get hold of a cricket bat? Could've been useful for beating people who didn't recognise the costume. " You don't get it? You must be a zombie. Here, have some of this!" WHACK!

The only two "Kill Bill" characters I saw in my area were Bill (White Suit, I think he was buying a sword at the costume place) and Elle Driver (One of the Hot Topic Employees). Other movie related costumes of note-
Ghostbuster (A guy at Suncoast who's quite cool)
Unlucky Camp Crystal Lake Counselor (His Co-Worker)
Jack Skellington (Another Hot Topic Empoyee)
Supergirl (Kay-Bee Employee)
I got a lot of compliments on my costume, but the new photos aren't developed yet..in fact, it's looking to be the end of the month. Thus, I'm going to put that one old photo up here-

Ok so I was planning on going around downtown dressed as jimmy from Pulp Fiction (bath robe, slippers, coffee mug) but I got called into work by my boss/friend so I stopped at Walgreen’s on the way and bought a costume for like a four year old. I ripped the seams out of the sides so I could fit my fat ass in it but I accomplished my goal, I went to work looking like a retard- don’t believe me have a look

this pic is trying to show the stinger on the back of the costume that is supposed to be on my ass (if I was four)

Yeah, it was already on sale and with my employee discount I ended up getting it for like $6. Then I of course bent the shit out of it and voila.

Oh man, I love seeing "Futurama" cosplays...especially Bender. I've been seeing a trend at anime/sci-fi conventions with people dressed as American Cartoon characters from "Adult Swim"...most notably, the Anime Expo '04 group of the "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" cast.

That's because Adult Swim, and especially Aqua Teen Hunger Force, is by far the greatest thing that has happened to cable television in the history of the ratings system.

Devin, the closest I'll classify "everywhere" is that he had to pay "damage" on the hotel linens and I sneezed the next day and it came out orange.
Second, COSTUME, not COSPLAY. We didn't pretend to be leela and fry, we just DRESSED as leela and fry.
And I hit him on the head a lot.

Well, to me, COSPLAY indicates something like we did it later as Fry and Leela, or furries in suits are our bestset friends or something.

My God, I just use it as a general term...
Besides, I don't think Furries qualify. Sure, there are mascots dressed as Tails and Yoshi out there, but I don't think they use them for deviant acts....
Erm, can we just get back to the topic?

I ended up going as Elvis for about two hours, because the Village costume went to shit.
Elvis didn't work out too well, as it was me throwing candy at children while wearing gold glasses and eating a peanut butter and 'nana sandwich.
Halloween would be decent if it wasn't for the fucking children.

Just to throw my 2 cents in about the cosplay/costume arguement. I agree with Anna, it's a blanket statement. If you are dressing up as a character in authentic costumes, it's cosplay. I don't think one has to act like the character to cosplay.
