I was looking for a place to comment on this and was surprised to find there was nothing up yet.
This trailer was pretty ass. Just scenes, nothing "trailer-y." I did like how they kicked it up a notch at the end, but I'm dissapointed with how they showed it.
Having already seen this flick though, I can tell you it's awesome. I would have showed a lot less plot and a lot more good stuff, without being too spoiler-y of the movie (teasing, at most, the death scenes). There was some pretty cool shit in the film that seemed tailor-made for a trailer.

Originally, I rolled my eyes at this but I'd have to say that was a pretty effective trailer.
And Juliet 'Drusila' Landau is in this?

I've been really dying to see this, especially since some people around the Internet have been saying its quite good. I'm really hoping this film is the beginning of Hooper getting his career back on track, and maybe a little more well deserved respect.

Nice trailer. It started out slow but then it really kicked up. Rip Torn flipped the hell out.

The way I remember it, she's in it for 5 minutes.

That looks pretty cool. even more excited to see this now.
Also, looks like the film has a great location going for it to build its story around, a'la Session 9.
I'm digging the trailer, although I prefer the music you hear when your cursor is on the buttons to the official "song"...

Slightly longer than that. Her character has a few small scenes then a rather lengthy dialogue with Angela Bettis' role.
Saw Toolbox myself, recently. Not entirely impressed. I mean, on the Hooper spectrum it's better than most of the crap he's been doing.
Compared to some of the other films that have been impressing us as of late, though, it doesn't hold up at all.
It's peppered with some awesome kill scenes but there's a monotony to the rest of the plot that had me scratchin' at my television screen for something exciting to happen.

That pretty much reflects what I said about it in the last thread about Toolbox.
Basically if you think of Hooper as the guy behind The mangler and Spontaneous combustion, Toolbox is good. But if you see him as the genius who did TCM, well, uh, you're in for a big disappointment...

Again, same here.
Although, I have to say, I saw it at Philly Film Festival, and Hooper, beforehand and in front of everybody, said, "Tell them to play it loud." They did, and it was much more effective in the dark theater playing at a tremendous volume.
