Hiya! Just joined today and would like to say hello to you all.
I love this site and like this message board ( I also belong to DVDTalk).
A couple of question to any london CHUDDERS:
1) What shops do you visit in London? I go to The cinema store and Forbidden planet.
2)I've heard they might stop doing the movie insider magazine, I tried to subscribe and they were thinking about stopping it. Anyone?
3) Is anyone going to Expo at excel on 16/17 May?
Thanks!

Funny I used to work next door to the British museum and spent most of my lunch hours hanging in that there comic shoppe. It's quite small tho' ( although comprehensive ) and I didn't know it was well known......now if only I could remember the name of the place...sorry........aaargh, it's on the tip of my tongue....
I used to go to Forbidden Planet alot although they're a bit on the pricey side.

AHA!!!! It's called *drumroll* "GOSH!" comics......very good for rare items and imports and the staff used to be real friendly..dunno what they're like now tho'.

Gosh! That sounds right!

Cool little place, I picked up a few things in there, and the staff can actually be arsed serving you. Sometimes in Forbidden Planet you can definitely take away that the staff can't be fucking arsed with customers (which is true of all retail, of course, the trick is not to make it so obvious).

One time, whilst I loitered amongst the LOTR action figures, I watched a harassed-looking woman with a baby carriage get ignored for at least three minutes, despite the fact she was the only person at the desk, whilst the guy behind it leafed self-importantly through a stock brochure, and then she was rigorously patronised by him for at least another five. It was brutal to watch.

I need to stay away from Forbidden Planet. I went in there on a whim on Saturday and spent 35 squid.

Forbidden Planet has been moved to a new bigger site with a better layout, and it is cheaper then The Cinema store.
But you are right about the staff there, all they seem to talk about is what club etc. they are going to go to that night. They have a serious lack of motivation.

Anyone remember, 'Dark they were and Golden-Eyed'?

Cool shop,... though for the life of me, can't remember where it was located.
