I was playing tonight with a bunch of kids who only wanted to play "deathmatch." Basically, you set all the virus cannisters to five minutes (so that nobody can hack them), you give the merc team only four lives, you give the spy team twelve lives, and then you just try to kill each other. It was harder than shit, and I'm still not sure whether I liked it or not. It was definitely...different.

Also, there are short solo tutorials for both the spy and the mercenary that you HAVE TO PLAY before you can join an online game. Be sure to do that before you want to play with live folks. They are real quick little sessions, with no enemies, that give you a cursory overview of the mechanics of the two characters you can play in multiplayer.

And please excuse me if you guys already know all this stuff. ;)
