Sorry I've been kind of MIA lately, but I have been going out of my mind...hardly a moments peace. Between working 50+ hours a week, moving and planning the wedding (christ you wouldn't believe all the crap that goes into that...and I'm having a small ceremony!) I've been pretty short on "spare" time. Damn, I have a lot of topics to try to catch up on.
I watched Ju-On: The Grudge 2 the other night. My expectations were pretty low, but I was pleasantly surprised. Of course it didn't compare to the original, but even after 4 installments it has managed to stay fresh. They changed things up a bit so we weren't seeing the "same old, same old" and there were some pretty creative kills. It didn't scare me like the original (not much does), but I did find myself saying "heh...cool" a lot which is a pretty damn good endorsement from me. Overall it was enjoyable and it managed to live up to the Ju-On name. Those of you who know my Ju-On obsession know that is saying a lot. Of course there were some things that annoyed me, but I was able to overlook them and enjoy the movie. The biggest annoyance being, and this has been a complaint since The Grudge, that with each movie they seem to put more and more makeup on Toshio. By the next installment he will be in full-on clown greasepaint. Overall I'd give it about a 3.5/5.
I managed to get my grubby little hands on a screener of Bubba Ho-Tep. I'll be watching that one tonight. :) Unfortunately I missed it when it came to Austin so I am going to miss out on the crowd experience (which totally sucks ass), but I'm just glad I'm finally going to get to see it. Come May, that DVD will be added to the collection.
I've missed you guys horribly and hopefully I'll be back semi-regular, if a bit sporadic, for a while. Have I missed any major events/drama/gossip/news?
