Well, he played a caveman in QUEST FOR FIRE and I don't think he had to use any make-up ...

But he's a great actor and I really hope he hits it big with HELLBOY so he'll never have to make crap like PRIMAL FORCE again.

Agreed. He was a Grad student in theater arts at the University of Minnesota. His picture made the wall of fame in Rarig Hall right after Quest for Fire (along side Peter Graves and Robert Vaugn and a ton of stage actors I have no idea who they are). We take what we can get here at the ole' diploma mill.
