As stream of consciousness is apt to do, I am reminded of a film I saw back in the 80s. I've only seen it once, and it was one of those that were hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
If my memory is really working well today, the film was an anthology piece, with one story about a guy whose body is replaced with a a boxy machine. There is a scene in which he is in bed and the covers are pulled back to reveal his new "look".
The end of the film is REALLY weird, in we see from the point of view of a clawed something chained in a room and escapes to attack a woman in a nearby apartment.
The creature's captor/keeper comes home with a chicken as a present, sees his prisoner has escaped and tracks it down to the aforementioned apartment. Finding the creature (which look sorta like a satyr) he shoots it. The creature stumbles toward the man, dying and spitting up blood. It utters "Why did you hurt me, daddy?" and dies. Roll credits.
