View Full Version : Chewer of the Year Rules/Nominations
Rivers Axl Rose Cuomo

With the facelift of the boards and an aura of great argumentative movie talk, there are certain people that stand out when a conundrum appears in a topic or certain people just add that special nth degree to the topic at hand.
Now's the time to celebrate the presence of these Chewers with the Chewer of the Year Award.
What will occur is from now (December 26) until December 29, there will be a nomination period where in this thread, people will simply type the screen-name of the Chewer they want nominated. A sentence or two to explain the choice would be great but not mandatory. As soon as a Chewer receives five (5) nominations, they are in the running for the final poll which will be up on December 30. The voting period for this final poll will go from December 30 until January 5 when votes will be tabulated and the person with the most votes will be declared CHEWER OF THE YEAR.
Criteria:
-the Chewer to be nominated has to have been a member of the boards as of December of 2002
-if the December of 2002 criteria is not fulfilled, a post count of over 1000 will suffice
-any current registered member of the boards may nominate and participate in the final vote
-please don't troll in the nomination or poll threads
Good luck to all who are nominated!
(edit: Further Rules)
-you can't nominate yourself
-you may only nominate one person per day

Can you vote or nominate for yourself?

Let's just give it to Slater or Whitehead and be done with it.

I hate to be a Negative Nancy...but...
Are you guys sure this is a good idea? Turning these boards into a popularity contest?
I don't know. I've seen it done at other boards. It's not pretty. It just gets petty and people gety bitchy. And that's a lot of words that end in Y.
I'm not trying to piss on your idea, just something to consider.

I say we allow someone to be declared "Chewer of The Year."
Then we kill them.

Not that I think that such popularity contests are neccesarily a healthy thing, but...
MIA Chewer: Voltes.
Active Chewer: Alice.

I dunno, I've laughed pretty hard at some of the things HAM has brought to the table. A poster who's always worth reading and worth quoting out-loud to my co-workers. Both quality and quantity, a poster who does not rest on his laurels.

Ok. I'll say it. I want to be Chewer of the Year. I really think I deserve it because I am just too cool. Seriously. I cannot think of anyone more deserving than me. I have given my all to these boards, exposed my innermost secrets, laid my life bare to all of you all, and thus am worthy. Yes: . . . you want to vote for Jabba . . . yes . . . see the pretty flowers . . . vote . . . yes . . . you must . . . vote . . . for . . . Jabba . . .

This because she is good tempered, gives cool presents, keeps me entertained with pictures to caption, survived Devin unscathed, and doesn't call for the breaking of a person's fingers, esp., when that person is a paraplegic and this message board his only escape from his horrid reality. Diva is "Chewer of the Year".

Compare these two posts. Notice how one of them is supremely obnoxious and painfully unfunny, while the other is normal? You know, the way normal people talk when they're not trying to be the center of fucking attention? Yeah, that's pretty weird, huh?
And for the record, anybody who breaks Bunny's fingers now gets my vote *plus* eight dollars and all the Artisan DVDs you can carry. Think about it.
