Lumiere question

Have we established that this is a town? In other words, that there's no tall-building-filled Metroplis-esque center of town?

mmm.. it seems to have a buisness district.. but you're right, there are no sky-scrapers.

it's a small-ish town, but there is the influence of the corperation Omnitequ, but other than that think of it as a town instead of a city.

I wanted to do a pulp superhero story, but without a "big city" setting, it wouldn't really work.

If not, then just do the story for the main board. Lumiere isnt' the be and end all of Chudstories.

Depends on which angle you're going for, but I think there's a lot of comedy mileage in the idea of a smalltown superhero.

Cool. I once had an idea about a guy discovering that Superman is actually real and living in squalor in some shitty backwater town. Because his super-senses meant he heard every crime and plea for help, he spent his entire life flying around the world faster than the eye could see saving people without them even realising he'd been there. He ends up bitter and twisted at the idea that people think he could lead a double life, work as a reporter and romance Lois Lane.

But I couldn't think of how to end it, without having him attempting suicide in increasingly outlandish ways.

Then I realised Groundhog Day had got there first.

Then I realised Groundhog Day had got there first.I think if they'll print a Superman story about putting baby Supes in a microwave over there, they'd print your story. I'd pay to read it, I know that much. I'm sure it'd be Elsewords though, which could mean crappy art. Boo.

And to stay on track...in my mind Lumiere is a small, rural town that was booming in the mid-to-late 1800's but went bust when the Great Depression hit.

That's actually a good idea...which would also explain why two big corporations, OmniTeq and Pillar, would be able to get a foothold in there, and subtly dominate the town to play chess with the townsfolk.
