View Full Version : Your Bio

Each of us has a bio that we should attach to a story when it's published, so that the reader knows we are who we say we are. What's yours?
I will be adding these to any stories you submit, so use your common sense. Here's mine for Chud:
Claudia T. Smith resides in Houston, where she writes whatever comes to her mind when it finally sticks there. If she isn't in front of her computer, you will find her worshipping the Great Old Ones at conventions, or making people think she's a responsible person as a secretary. Some of her original fiction can be found here on ChudStories.com, and some of her non-fiction can be seen in IF magazine. Her many meanderings can be found on the message boards where she posts as Hastur. She can be reached as HasturCTS via IM, or at hastur@houston.rr.com. She refuses to give her phone number because she has enough telemarketers calling as is, thank-you-very-much.
My bio does change, depending on where I submit, naturally. Please note though, that it meets the criteria that Coyote mentioned: My real name, my real e-mail addy (since I want to be contacted with the million dollar movie deal), and some stuff about me.
OK. Your turn. What's your bio? You don't have to give the e-mail address, if you don't want to, or anything else, for that matter. But, if you are submitting stories (and why are you here if you aren't? Hmmmmm???), please post one.

I've already got one at the end of my previous CHUD Story - <a href="http://www.chud.com/chudstories/stories/skintight.php3" target="_blank">Skintight</a> - so I'm guessing I don't need to send one again?

No, you don't. I'm just trying to get everyone to post one, if they will, so that I have another source of them.
What I would really like to do is have a database of them, so that when someone sends a story, I can just append the proper tag. But that's probably too much to want, eh?

Here's mine:
Scott Roche is a devoted husband and father. He is a certified computer geek and loves movies. He is also a frustrated writer living in Winston Salem, NC. He can be reached at capteucalyptus@yahoo.com.
It's different from my present one. You can feel free to tag it on. Thanks for all your hard work.

I was wondering when we were going to do this.
Ok, here goes.
Andrew Winter, aka Unbreathless, aka Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
e-mail: unbreathless@hotmail.com
bio: Is a 19 y/o student residing in St. John's Newfoundland (that's Canada for those of you who don't know North American Geography or History. It is the oldest friggen city in North America you know? Jeeze, read a book.)
He enjoys writing, reading, movies, photography, drawing, music and the occasional snifter of brandy to calm the nerves after a long hard day in the dishroom in back of a dirty Mexican eatery.
His stories are in no way based on his real life, cuz that would be just nasty.
You can omit the parts that make it less than professional I suppose. But I like it.
Heh, whoops... a little late for this, I suppose:
Scott Anderson spends his days as a wage slave, building internet software for a large financial institution. This drudgery finances his nightlife as a crime fighting super hero, an activity he performs diligently as long as there isn't anything good on tv. Writing is one of the many hobbies Scott wishes he had more time for.

Michael Ashleigh Finn is a speculative fiction author who holds two degrees from the University of North Texas...one in Radio/TV/Film, the other in Anthropology...and as soon as he figures out who they belong to, he'll give them back. Neither of these degrees explain why he works as a tech analyst for an international energy company. His hobbies are cats, Zen Physics, chocolate, stories (reading, writing, film, tv) fire twirling & eating, digital photography, whip practice (and other circus acts), romancing stones, keeping convention heads from going insane (blatant plug: <a href="http://www.a-kon.com" target="_blank">www.a-kon.com</a> ), and writing bios about himself. He has never been a short order cook. Well, not that he remembers. He uses the name Coyote on the CHUD boards, in reference to the trickster god who tended to use various methods of humor in teaching others, not the least of which was proving his own falliblity.

Gack. Let's try this again:

Despite the rumours, he does not own a penguin.

[i] When he, under the infamous handle RathBandu, isn't firmly inserting his foot in his mouth, Brendan L. (don't forget the L!) Heldenfels is a fifth-level rogue. A freshman at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, he's majoring in cinema studies and (hopefully) dramatic writing. He's currently working on his fourth screenplay, "Unravelling", a supernatural drama described as somewhere between Paul Schrader and John Hughes. His aspirations are to be the next William Goldman or a damn good high school teacher. A hopeless romantic masquerading as a cynic, he enjoys Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Broadway musicals, and Stephen King. He has a habit of not finishing things.

I am Hank... And I started writing because quitting Mountain Dew gave me visions.
In my free time I like to look at naked women, and shoot guns.

Justin Pogue is a young-ish writer (which differs from an author in that an author is paid) from somewhere out West. He is accompanied by two demonic entities that on this plane are called Sasha and Madeline, and Her Satanic Majesty, his wife. He has written a number of things, and will continue to do so until forced to stop. He is more attractive than you are thinking, and his life is a lot like James Bond's, only with a much, MUCH lower budget.

Hopefully, not at the same time?

Steve Walsh lives in south west London just outside Wimbledon (you know - tennis balls?) with his fantastic (I had to put that) wife and a very aggressive and fat feline. He writes in his spare time, that is when not drinking excessively or gambling stupidly. His interests include football (soccer to the Yanks), golf and Buddhism. Favourite people : Philip K Dick, George Best and generally anyone who likes to buy drinks. Age 35 and like the poet Mr Keats he is 5 feet 5 inches tall!
