I am writing a rather lengthy story that features the U.S.O Hall (in 1942, today it's the VFW Hall), the Central Oaks Country Club, and the East Lumiere High School. It takes place in the years 1942, 1962, 1982, and 2002. Just thought you should know because I remember reading something that said we should give heads up on what things we are writing about when we write them. I think. Or maybe I'm too stoned to think straight. Anyway. I thought you all should know...

Oh yeah, and the story I'm writing now includes the Palisade Lighthouse Hotel, across the Seward River from the African-American section of the main Lumiere beach in 1922. Thanks.

Lumiere Beach: A swath of land on the rocks by a dock at that bend in the river down by the donut shop, where everyone dumps the fine sand from the hotel ashtrays.
