I'd like to try my hand at writing a story, but the submission form says to submit ones that are on topic... but then doesn't give the current topic.
Are you between topics right now? Or can I just go ahead and write whatever I want?

I think you can write for any of the existing topics as well. Just be sure to say which category it's for when you send it in.

Yeah, 'cause if you write an exotic, zombie-sea monster story...

Damn it. There goes another great idea...
Seriously though, I wrote a story without planning it for any of the existing story topics, and sent it in. It's never appeared on the site, so now it waits in limbo for a relevant topic to appear...

And trust me, if I could answer that question, I would. Nick's CNN gig kinda interrupted his plans to talk to us, so although I'm listed as an editor, I'm not *currently* sure of some of the finer details. Hastur is currently working on a post for the Chud Town Stories that is quite lengthy, I'll toss her at this thread afterwards and see if she makes a splat...er, see if she knows anything.

Actually, I was looking at the topic section, and it seems kind of limiting in some ways. I need to talk to Nick (yeah, right, he's busier than a one-armed-paper-hanger) and see if there's a way to open it up a bit more. At the very least, it should now have a section of "Our Town" or something.

Thanks a lot guys.
demonic possession of a homicidal maniac anyone?
I think the a topic that would be cool would be "killer plants" or maybe "killer Animals"
but thats just my opinion... if you really WANT to do Erotic Underwater Mer-lesbians, who am I to stop you?
hhmmmm *gets out pen and paper and stares into the aquerium for inspiration*

How about psychological horror. "It's all in you mind."

You either write in one of the easy to choose topics...OR if you are in doubt, go for Misc!
