what about... ChudCOMICS, or possibly ChudArt?

I'm thinking that those of us with artistic inclinations could do a few drawings for people's stories. Sort of like conceptual art or somthing.

could be a collaboration thing. One person do the story, another do the art, with constructive criticism from the author.

Digital art, paintings, sketches.... im talking any form you want, so long as you can get it (or a picture of it) online.

what do you guys think?

I think a Lumiere based comic series would kick massive amounts of ass.

And writing comics is always something I wanted to do, but I can't draw so...

Sounds like a great idea. It probably doesn't even have to be a separate entity (eg. CHUDArt) but an extension of CHUDStories. Also, such an extension would result in bandwidth-hungry issues that will cost Nick some serious dough.

You should post this <a href="http://chud.nexcess.net/board/ubbhtml/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=49" target="_blank">here</a> as well, as that's where the arty folk hang out.

As for the bandwidth - heck, if it's a good comic, why give it away free on the Internet? Why not print 'em up and sell 'em through the site? More money for CHUD, published work for us. Comics online don't work anyway - trust me, I have gruesome first hand experience...

I actually did some things when I wrote my first Lumiere story, and was going to start a "Chud Stories Art" topic in the Art forum, and never did it.

Basically, I fully support this idea, and its a good thing there are folks more motivated than myself around here to get it going wink I'll try and put my piece up tonight, maybe get the ball rolling.

[Insert gruesome picture here]

-from the Lumiere story [insert title]!

"What the hell is [insert title]!! Isn't that the new Dean Koontz book?"

Oo...ok, so I went a little harsh with Koontz, but you know what I mean!! You could sell them at all horror/scifi conventions.

Waco, that was so sweet! I got goosebumps seeing an artistic rendition of the Rusty Nail Diner.

Damn, seeing an example -- and an excellent one at that! -- does enhance the story. In a way, Lumiere will definitely be extra special when all sorts of art (drawings, paintings, sculptures, Rath's menstruating art student, etc.) are incorporated among the stories. Super cool!

Excellent work, Waco!

Waco, next time, be free to post them here. I, for one, would love an art gallery, or art to go with a story. It's not something we've discussed with Nick yet, though. One thing at a time.
