Even though I don't post very much, I have been paying attention to these boards. And there have been a lot of good discussions going on here about the craft of writing.
Therefore, I'm posting this as an assignment.
I want a few articles about your feelings on writing, from the writer's point of view. This is a fairly open ended assignment, although it would be nice to get them before the end of the month.
Your article can be anything you want it to be. Perhaps you want to tell us what it felt like when you received your first acceptance. Maybe you have a few words about how to accept rejection notices. How about a short essay about what it took to create that masterpiece of yours. Or, something about what you hate seeing in published works.
Voltes, I would love a simple essay on keeping the creative juices flowing from you.
Since these are articles, and will be published with the idea of helping other writers in some way, shape or form, there is no real word limit. On the other hand, try to keep them reasonably concise, just for our sanity. Also, since these are non-fiction, there is no guarantee that they will be published. I know that sucks, but the idea is to help each other out. Sometimes, you may submit an article that is better expressed by something that someone else submits (for example, if two people submit an article about the influence of Stephen King in modern script writing, I'm definitely going to want to pick the best one and go with it).
As usual, I will try to work with you so that your article is the best it can be. Also, I won't submit anything for posting without your permission. Most of you are getting used to my editing style, and know what to expect from me.
As usual, questions and comments can be posted here or e-mailed to me.
Enjoy.
