Because my son decided to play PYRO with the folks next door instead of going to a ballgame I was comped tix for, I'm going to a baseball game tonight with a woman who will be looking at other men while I'm looking at other women.

This is the one huge drawback to working in a theme park -- they're open every friggin' holiday. I missed out on trips to Atlanta and Tampa because all my friends have Monday through Friday jobs and have a long weekend. Me, I'll have a long weekend too.

Me, I always say that if I ran a theme park, I'd be closed on holidays. Say something like, "It's more important our employees be home with their families than us having a few extra days of revenue." I'd have people lined up for miles to work there.

The store I work at was thankfully closed today. Got a bbq in about an hour, a party at my friend's house tonight, lots of fireworks, and the twilight zone marathon on right now (monsters due on maple street- hell yeah). This is looking to be a good day. :D

It's my dad's birthday today, but unlike previous years where we go to my grandpa's house and shoot of fireworks, he just wants to sit around the house. We didn't know what to get him for the longest time, so we settled on a bag of pistachios and a Wal-Mart gift certificate.

Tonight I'm going out to the lake where one of my friends has a cabin. Booze, BBQ, and Blowing Shit Up? Sounds like a plan to me.

I'm so glad that I didn't have to work today. Our plant shuts down every July 4th weekend, so nobody had to work at all this weekend. Pretty nice :cool:
