Not only does this cat get together great stuff for the main CHUD page (and we have one of those, for you who never leave the boards) but he also contributes so much here - both with his knowledge and his wit.
The guy's a champion. Let's hear it for him.

Indeed this man is hard working and diligent. What he brings to CHUD is something every website needs....determination to bring the goods. And he delivers. Good man, good man.

Love him.
He's such an aseet here.

Provides some of the coolest reading material, and the interviews he snags kick ass.

Fucking closet homo.

He provides great content and commentary to the site. He's also a Rock n Roll High School fan, so he's automatically cooler than cool.

Other than that he let my copy of Pretty in Pink melt on his dashboard, he's a pretty cool guy.
(well he told me it melted, and then one time I called him and I heard the movie in the background, and I said "hey is that my copy of Pretty in Pink you're watching?" and he said "no, I just bought the soundtrack" but I swear I heard Annie Potts)

Closet? I thought with all those musical reviews he was pretty much out.

Jack,
You're the best. Unbeatable.
Now, go find out some more about WAR OF THE WORLDS. wink

Smilin' Jack is one helluva guy, for a woman.
Seriously, he's always a great read, and a huge boon to CHUD. Thumbs up.

I don't like Jack too much...he's mean. He could have stopped in at Will's and introduced himself to me after he dropped off Nick and Steve at his place after last year's ComicCon, and he sped away like so much Abe Vagoda. What a bitch.

SJR rules!

Tops. Once again, his review of The Horses Mouth rocked ass.

He bears the mark of the beast, and I'm not talking about the Kevin Reynolds tank movie, either.

And yet he still is a man of mystery where few know his name and even fewer his face.
Beware....internet reporting is only his day job!

Knows too much about Blake Edwards for me to trust him.
(Seriously, SJR is always entertaining, always knowledgeable.)

His reviews are in-depth and always an entertaining read, and his posts often make me snarf. High praise, indeed.

A really entertaining, creative, and thoughtful writer. I always look forward to his stuff. What more could you ask for?

God save the ... I mean, hail to the king, baby!Yeah, when I asked you to defend my heterosexual honor on this thread, that's EXACTLY what I meant, so thanks for that!

SJR does indeed rule. It's good to know folk still appreciate the finer things in life, like giant bug movies.

Here's why he's "Smilin":

This is actually my favorite Ruby shot:

Surrounded by his womenz at his Dallas nightclub.
And thanks to everybody who said such nice things to me in this thread. If you really knew me, you'd know I was a real fucking bastard in real life, but I try to come off nice here on the site, which I love and consider my second (sometimes my first) home.

I've loved Ruby (in a strictly one-internet-guy-to-another sense) since his days on Fandom, and I've always wanted him to just break down and get over to the Corner, where he belongs. Unfortunately for us, his knowledge goes far outside the simple realm of horror, and I'd honestly feel he'd be wasting his talent if he sat with us exclusively at the internet lunch counter.
Wonderful man, a man that knows how to get what he wants, and is ocasionally willing to even hook up friends with things they want (New York Fango).
So hell yeah! Go Jack!
...oh, and I've loved him in a I-wanna-fuck-him-in-the-ass sense for about 8 months now, in case anyone was wondering.

Kinda prefer this one myself:
<img src="http://www.what-a-character.com/photos/982798642.jpg" alt="" />What? That's not Ruby. That's Brian Doyle Murray.
Oh, and SJR. You rock hard, dude!

I do have a suggestion though....he needs a new CHUD shirt.
Nick I suppose you could give him one since he got it on the Resident Evil featurette.

Nah, there's something to be said for a t-shirt that's been through the laundry a thousand times. You should see my 1989 R.E.M. tour shirt.

Damn you. I missed the GREEN tour, and will never forgive myself for it.
Damn you, Jack Ruby. Dammit all to hell.
Overall, a pretty swell guy. Damn shame about the T-shirt.

Smilin' Jack Ruby:
Nah, there's something to be said for a t-shirt that's been through the laundry a thousand times. You should see my 1989 R.E.M. tour shirt. It's like my IRON GIANT crew shirt that was given to me by Brad freakin' Bird. I could keep it safe somewhere, but that's no fun. I love wearing it and by now, it's almost an abstract.
Oh... and Smilin' Jack Ruby doesn't suck.
Well, he does... but he doesn't drag teeth. And there's something to be said for that.
Kid Ego
07-06-2002, 09:13 AM
Sometimes, Drew, dragging teeth is a good thing...depends on how good they do it...
In SJR's case....VERY good... :D

Waaahoo! For SJR. :D I got to meet him last week. He's a cool guy and adds a lot to this site.
