Who can make it this year? It'd be great to have a fiasco.

If it's in late September, I can make it. (Wow, what are the chances that my girlfriend gets a bursary and a trip down to San Diego the same year that ChudCon might be forming?)

Just maybe....just maybe
Depends on when. But I will do everything humanly possible to be there.

I just got my tickets and our hotel.
Steve and I arrive on the 31st of July in SD and leave the 4th of August.

Would love to come, as I hear San Diego is a great place, but my cousin is getting married that weekend and I have already committed to that and I work in education, so I go back to work on August 1.

I will be there. Cases of Scotch in tow, naturally.
Oh, and Garth.

Fucked. August 4th is Riley's birthday. :(
What are the actual dates of the Con itself, Nick? July 31st - August 3rd? If so, I might be able to leave on the 3rd. We'll see...

I'm sorta scared to go to this thing. Cause if I go I would have to do the CHUD thing and try to hang out with the folks, but I'm so goddamn younger than them I know it wouldn't work out...

Could be worse.
You could wait a week and join the CHUD Freaks at Fango L.A. 2K2 where you can watch HAM walk thru hall after hall yellin' "Danielle?"
Or even worse you could wait two weeks and join the So Cal Chewers at this supposed BBQ thing which will most likely end in death and bodily dismemberment when Ludwig thinks reciting 700 incantations is a fun way to kick things up a notch.
San Diego and four days with Overlords and comic geeks sound downright agreeable now, don't they?

I could still be heading to those places, Dj.
It could get real fucking bad for me...

If you think it's bad for you, just imagine what all those appearances will do to the rest of us.
But even with that I must say you haven't lived until you've seen HAM hit on Clive Barker without realizing it.
Dunno 'bout Rotten and Ruby, but I know I'm scarred for life...

San Diego is indeed a great place!
I would be happy to share a local's point of view on places to eat/shop/play should you so desire...
A few highlights:
Guinness at The Field
Guinness at The Ould Sod
Guinness at Shakespeare's
well, you get the idea...
