Check this out in the Politics forum. Immensely enjoyable. Better than the Prequels.

Let's just hope there's not a War prequel trilogy that rapes my childhood.

Jabba, I was as vocal a critic of the Star Chamber as anybody, but this? No. You're clearly in the wrong here.

No way. We all know Laugharn has it out for Jabba!

I am perplexed. What is going on here? I just wanted to know what everyone thought would be the results of our war with Iraq. That is it, just a simple question. Why all of the locking and PM's (Poxy, Micah)? My only intention was to initiate a discussion pertaining to potential scenarios ex post facto. Much to my amazement it became something other than a simple non-threatening, non-controversial discussion. I give up.

Jabba. The knock on your door is reality.
Donald Wiskerando
03-18-2003, 11:45 PM
The problem is, previous discussions were brought to your attention very early on, but you kept starting threads, for no other apparent reason than to be annoying. When we pointed out threads had been pointed out, you gave some excuse that made you sound horribly, horribly lazy (the search function is RIGHT THERE, MAN.)
Jabba! Duh! They pointed out the other threads where just the discussion you wanted was already taking place. So just go there and discuss already! You're the only one losing face here.

You started off right, Jabba. I thought your thread was fine.
Then, of course, you blew everything out of proportion and behaved like a four year old.
Silly.

Those threads are unbelievably funny - so I guess the question is, if the STAR CHAMBER just let him go with his first 'War' thread, would any of this happened?

Maybe there's a lesson hear about the war after all.
I kept trying to sneak in my StarChamber = UN Security Council allusions all night, to no avail.
Just the same, perhaps you're on to something.

I'm speaking here not just as a member of the Star Chamber, but also as a fellow Chewer, and I think this whole bout was utter bullshit.
We have a forum for humor and we have a forum for pointless threads. And I don't think it's too much to ask that material of that nature be put there.
But willful disobedience just to amuse yourself? Well, by nature, it's selfish. By objective appraisal, it's juvenile. And by my personal standards, it's just plain rude and inconsiderate.
I don't live to be a SC member. I much prefer to be able to come onto the boards after a screening and just focus on discussion of that film or catching up on political or culture discussion.
But thanks to you, Jabba, I spent most of my time here tonight trying to reason with a petulant toddler who thought he was making a funny.
He wasn't.

A day on CHUD is like a day on the farm.
Every meal's a banquet...
Every rant's a song...
Every formation a parade...I love CHUD.
Anybody ever feel like this place just turned into Futureworld from Logan's Run?

STAR CHAMBER
What a lovely waste of Nick's bandwidth. OK now I klnow SC was in the right but COME ON. Far more bandwidth is wasted in the Draft picture threads. And talk about stealing VAST amounts of bandwidth by remote linking. When will that be stopped? :D
Leeching from other sites is something the SC is cracking down on. Pics are only allowed to be posted if it is hosted from your own site. Exceptions are if it is part of a draft, "Chewer photo" thread, or "caption this" thread.
Within those threads, it is strongly encouraged that a photo be posted only ONCE. If you want to comment on a picture, you can do so without reposting the pic in your response.
Any other time, please use a link. It's not that much effort for us to click on it to see the photo.

OK now I klnow SC was in the right but COME ON. Far more bandwidth is wasted in the Draft picture threads. And talk about stealing VAST amounts of bandwidth by remote linking. When will that be stopped? :D The difference is that those are Nick-sanctioned activities and he has dealt with the consequences and ramifications of those actions.
This is specifically a Nick-prohibited activity and someone else had to deal with the consequences and ramifications of it.
They're not even comparable.

Gosh that was funny. Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm of the opinion that the first thread shouldn't have been closed and that Jabba was just being stupid by starting all the others.

Wait. So now we can't post picture here?
When will being witty or having a point be outlawed too?

If you have your own hosting, then pictures are ok. If it's a pic already on CHUD's server, it's ok.
If you go to Google Images and find a pic of Bridget Fonda or a goofy-looking clam somewhere and post it, chances are good that the pic is sucking someone else's bandwidth.
The grey areas I feel Nick and/or Micah need to fill in. But that's the long and short of it.
FYI

The best way to get a picture to be left alone is to host it on your own server.
Barring that, put it up here for a reason. Sex forum...draft pictures...whatever. If we're going to leech bandwith from other sites, I want it to count for something.
Just randomly reposting the picture of the giant slug that looks like a limp cock? No-no. We've all seen it once. You can just link to it now. People will still click on it. You'll still be clever. Honest. But it's more considerate to other websites.
Even with these rules, we'll evaluate things on an individual basis. So loosen up your knickers. Nothing to cry about.
