We had no king and queen at our prom, which was held in the gym. I used to tell people we played "HORSE" to determine who was king and queen.

I went to a small private school that had 20, that's right 20, people in my graduating class. There was no prom king/queen nonsense.

Actually, there was and I wasn't picked.

My friends and I were going to boycott the prom, but we ended up going last minute. My friend Noa, who was the most adament about not going, was crowned prom queen. It was especially funny for us because she is nothing like the typical prom queen. Example #1: she was wearing green Doc Martins with a polka dot dress. eek!

The week before prom my date shaved all her hair but her bangs and dyed them green. My friend Karen ran up to me one morning before class and said, "Have you seen Jen yet?" I said "no" and she proceeded to tell me what she had done to her head. I thought she was messing with me, but lo and behold I ran into her about five minutes later and sure as shit, it was gone. The first thing she said to me was "Do you like it?" At that point I thought that it was way too late to back out and find a new date, so I sais "uh huh.." and prepared myself for the worst.

When I picked her up, to my surprise, she looked great. She had dyed her hair back to a more normal shade of red and did up the bangs all nice, so when you looked at hter straight on, you couldn't tell she had no hair. I was pleasantly surprised. When we were getting into the limo, I looked down and what did I see? A flaming swastika tattooed on her breast. I didn't know about it until then, cause she was wearing a strapless number so's EVERYONE could see.

After the dance, she ditched me for a more "punk rock" guy I had never seen before but just showed up at the dance. Turns out it was her new boyfriend that she had neglected to tell me about BEFORE I spent $200 on dinner, prom tickets, and pictures. (Not to mention the limo, tux, and flowers.)

I wound up getting drunk in the desert with my buddies and their dates, puking my lobster dinner on my rented shoes, and waiting on the porch for my parents to get home because I didn't have my keys.

Not that i'm bitter or anything.

They didn't start having a prom king & queen until my senior year.

I do remember that during my junior year at prom a couple of the senior guys started to strip, but the principal stopped them.

I went to prom my senior year by myself. It was pretty sad. I kinda felt like an idiot. I never asked anyone out, I didn't feel like gettin dhot down.
I went to dinner at McDonalds all dressed up and then I went to the dance. After that I went home and watched movies.

Oh, and Hubris, I had something like that happen to me too at prom sophomore year. The girl I went with was an OLD friend of mine from middle school, first girl I ever had a crush on, etc etc etc. Anyway we went to prom, had fun yadda yadda yadda. After prom we went to this coffee shop with some friends of mine, near where prom was held. She was meeting her ex there, but didnt tell me this. So we get there and sit down and get some coffee or whatever. She tells me she has to go talk to him for a minute, that some messed up stuff had happened with him and they needed to talk. Im like, "ok I guess". A minute later, what do I see? I see her standing there making out with the guy. I dont think ive ever been that pissed off in my life. I of course couldnt ditch her, even though I wanted to, because her ride home was me. ( Im too nice). For over a year we didnt talk at all. And just these past couple months we've become friends again.

I never went to prom; I spent what was supposed to be my senior year of HS in college, so I was sort of ostracized and all that from the high school chicks, and thus, none requested that I take them to prom.
