I just got home watching "Solaris" and my pet, Gizmo

<img src="http://innergrail.com/misc/howcouldyou.jpg" alt="" />

just barks at me as usual.

I looked at him, waiting for him to greet me a "Happy Birthday." I stared at his eyes, hoping to see some sly glint as to inform me that he remembered.....

But, alas, he only demanded for his squeaky hamburger toy for me to play "Catch" with. He didn't remember. Not a single acknowledgement whatsoever. And there I was throwing his toy around while my heart broke.

This :( me deeply.

Okay, okay, enough of the melodramatics. It's me 30th birthday, and voltes5 wants some love. As far as Gizmo is concerned, it's all true. He'll be hearing from my divorce attorney soon. Little bastard!

You tell your dog if he doesn't show the proper respect, he'll end up in a Chinese McDonalds’s hamburger before he knows what happened.

Many Happies on your wondrous day of birth, Voltes!

Happy Birthday, Master Voltes! Please don't work on your birthday -- go do something fun, chase down a cool guy, go dancing, anything but stay at home with Gizmo. Great dog, lousy planner and cook, so you know you won't be seeing much from the dog. &lt;g&gt;

Thank you, thank you, and a hearty THANK YOU for all the wishes and love. They are very much appreciated. Thank you.

I've been having a bit of a crisis lately. Just knowing that I'm not in my twenties, well, just makes me feel "uneasy."

Well, enough of that obligatory "I'm 30!" rant.

I actually had the day off (well, night off) from work today and I just had a relaxing day. My bro got me clothes and mom sent me cash whose amount shall remain undisclosed. :) Anyway, I saw "Treasure Planet" with my relatives then a few of my friends got me semi-drunk.

That's pretty much it. Nothing spectacular -- just the way I like it. Right now, I'm watching FOTR (ext. ed.). Thanks, Verbal!

Ugh. I'm 30 years old and 1 Day! The Horror! eek!

Christ, you're old.

You should get a cat, then you'd be used to being used and ignored.

Did I mention you're old?

Jacob Singer

And Happy Birthday, goddammit.

But you're still old.

Jacob Singer

And you only got semi-drunk on your 30th?

Man, you're old.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Turning 30's not so bad. After about a month for the denial to fade and the realization to sink in, and eventual acceptance is the only option you have.

Welcome to the club, gramps! :D

Happy belated. I echo Kittie's sentiment. Since I have turned thirty I have become a father, moved to a great new city, started writing that goshdarned novel, started reviewing books for one (soon to be two) sites. Your 30's will be great!

Voltes, did I mention you're old?Let it be hereby known that on Dec 12, 2002 @ 6:53 p.m., Jacob Singer says in a thread called "Solaris - one of the best movies in years":

Jacob Singer:
&lt;snipped to protect the innocent&gt; ... I'm such a bitter old coot.Not only does Jacob Singer admits that he's old, but he is also bitter and a coot.

You old coot.

At least you can take solace in the fact that no matter how slow and decrepit you become, Jacob Singer will be eleven years slower and decrepit-er...
