Sounds like a bad idea to me. I don't think the gaming community could deal with anoher console out there right now. Plus, I like my single-player RPGs and DVD player capability. (Yes, I use my X-Box DVD player. It's great for the kid when you don't want the TV locked up if you're watching something.)

Comments?

(If there are any other threads out there about this, sorry)

I think there was an old thread about this.

But at the time, I just filed it under "R" for rumors.

Tycho and Gabe over at Penny Arcade have some interesting evidence that the Phantom is actually fake or a really bad attempt to make a gaming console.

Of course, if it is real, I don't need it. I have a computer. And they don't seem like Microsoft to me.

I think it has an appropriate name.

Why? Is it played by Billy Zane?

No, but Catherine Zeta-Jones makes a pre-fame appearance.

Catherine Zeta-Jones was in Fame?

I'm in the unique situation where I might acutally NEED this damn thing. I'm on a mac which equals I don't get to play games on my computer.

So hopefully I can toss down 300 bucks for this stupid system and finally get to play Galaxies!
