Anybody out there play Firearms?

I did quite a while ago. I was addicted to it like mad. Well, one day I got bored of it and I haven't played it since. Well, I went over to the main Firearms site and, guess what? Just yesterday, they released the next version of it, and it looks badass. I'm still downloading it, so I'll tell you how it is when I get to playing it.

For those who don't have a damn clue what I'm talking about, Firearms is a Half-Life mod and it's my personal favorite. It combines the realism of Counter-Strike with the insane deathmatch-esque fun of Team Fortress Classic (where is TF 2? Hmmmmm....). If you've never played it, and you have Half-Life, zip over to <a href="http://www.firearmsmod.com/" target="_blank">http://www.firearmsmod.com/</a> and get yourself a copy. Or don't. Who cares?

Firearms is great, and has the best weapons of any HL mod (obviously).

Isn't it funny how when you stop playing a HL mod for like a little while, then go back and decide to play again there's a new mod for you to dld? Happened to me with CS with 1.4. Have lost interest in online gaming lately...

But maybe I should dld Firearms again..

Fuck, I forgot how much I hate online games. My computer is soooo shitty... I can barely log onto a game. It might be the game's fault, but my computer is the anti-Christ, so it wouldn't surprise me.

I think not. But if CS 1.4 isn't your bag. Try Firearms. Of course, they have now changed FA.

This has been my personal favorite HL mod for some time, and I love the new version. I've been playing this like crazy the last couple days. There is simply nothing quite like playing the specialist config and lurking in a dark corner of a swamp with a silenced MP5... waiting... waiting... and then a guy runs by, and another guy, and the second one dies, and no one hears a thing, and the first one dies, and no one knows, and I find another spot and wait again... okay, so maybe I need a break.

This is definitely the best mod nex to CS and TFC.

I personally rank them like this:

1. FA
2. DOD
3. CS
4. TFC

CS is just too popular for its own good, and TFC I'm truly awful at. DOD is the most atmospheric multiplayer game ever, probably. FA has guns... lots of guns.

Oh yeah, and they fixed up all the maps, so even the ones that were truly awful before are now pretty cool. No more choke points, no more ugly textures, plenty of hiding spots...

Don't any of you guys play Action? I was playing ActionQuake2 back in the day, and ActionHL is even better. Have you guys given it a shot?
