The massively multi-player genre wounds me. FF has always been about a greater plot-line, in depth story and diverse background characters. The concept of XI seems to leave no room for this. Who can be the hero that saves the world when there are 56,420 heroes "online" at a certain time?

I cannot get excited about this, and feel as though FF really ended with X, and that this is some generic spinoff.

I cannot get excited about this, and feel as though FF really ended with X, and that this is some generic spinoff.You're right. I'm probably the biggest FF fan here, but the only thing that I'm hyped about for F11 is the soundtrack. Im getting the game, but I can say right now that it won't be even close to how good FFX was. I play RPG's for the story and music. I could care less if I didn't get the "gold amulet" or my player's "ultimate weapon". But then again I would be playing with all my friends, and this is a Square game so they may put a bigger story line in it than the other online RPG's. I know that FF11 has a whole lot of FMV's in it, so it's possible.
