Isn't it a sick irony that this declaration can be both:

a. the best thing a guy can hear
b. the worst thing a guy can hear

Yes, it definately is, Master Drummond.

But it always sucks for the woman.

That is very true creetch, very true. As Matthew Klam said, "I'd never want to be a girl, though, for they have the worst deal in history." You guys have it rough, unique problems men would never be able to handle.

I have the distinct feeling that they have the capacity to enjoy sex more, however.
Note I said "capacity," not "they do." It varies from person to person.
And once it progresses to carrying a child, it no longer becomes even remotely "even."

WHy is it a guy can say "we're pregnant?" He's not pregnant, he's just the support team. "We're having a child," I can see...it takes two to tango, and two people should leave the floor together, but the male is not pregnant.

Sorry...that triggers the same language police reflex that coporate speak like "I want to dialogue with you" does.

Kirby Drummond:

b. the worst thing a guy can hearWuss; if you can walk through mud, you can fuck through blood. Nothin' a washcloth won't take care of.

And I read somewhere recently that men actually have a HIGHER tolerance of pain than women. So the theory men couldn't 'handle' a period once a month is just that, and based on incorrect evidence (Note: not that I'm personally volunteering to see how it feels - I realize it sucks bigtime).

The pain is only 5% of the problem.

"The worst thing a man can hear" may not only mean that ole willie ain't getting wet tonight, it could also mean teen pregnancy or unwanted pregnancy which is not pretty.

And as for the pain, I agree with channel, the pain is the least of the issue.

Has anyone ever heard of the old saying "If they're old enough to bleed, they're old enough for me!"?

Creepy?
Yes.
Funny?
Indeed!
Applicable to the topic at hand?
Kinda...Maybe...Shut up!

"I got my period" would be the WORST thing a man could hear if he was hoping to get willie wet.

"I got my period" would be the BEST thing a man could hear if there was concern about unwanted pregnancy.

I was attempting to lightheartedly address (b) and did not mean to infer anything about (a).

And as to my comments about the pain, I've just heard too many times "you could never take this"; well, if I was in that position, I wouldn't have much choice, and it's based on misleading evidence about pain - although I missed channel's comment, and I agree the invconvenience and prospect of embarrassment would be huge factors in making it a generally fucking awful experience. And as my intent was not to offend or be an asshole, I truly, sincerely apologize if I did either (or as in many cases, both). Cool?

In my experience, that's rarely the case. Quite the oppsoite, really.
But then again, I've noticed I've a tendancy to date women who aren't bothered by blood.

When I was younger I asked an older friend if he'd ever gone down on a girl while she was having her period. He said, "No way. I'll wade the red river, but I will not drink of her waters."

No offense taken. I think pain thresholds are totally different amongst individuals. I've known men and women both who were wusses, or the opposite.
It's "inconvenient"? Try "fucking annoying". Women get a mixed bag of symptoms depending on personal chemistry. Those symptoms can range from things like cramps and bloating to things like difficulty concentrating, mood swings, sinus problems, muscle aches, headaches, and acne, and they all suck.
But "you could never take this" is still an immensely disrespectful, bullshit statement to make. And an irrelevant one.
"I got my period" has been a happy thing for a few women to say, too. The ambivalence can be mutual.

Flying on Red Wings? Not a problem! Depending on what moment you're doing it, it can get a little gross (it depends where Aunt Flo is going through), and it definitely makes oral a challenge, but my girlfriend can get to be a bit hornier on the rag, so who am I?

I got no problem with earning the red wings, but I draw the line at the red tongue. My friend has his and he says as long as you stay at the top, it's no biggie. I just don't think I could do it.
