For those So Cal Chewers....

Since now the movement for both hollywood and the Valley has now been put into gear my question is what do we all here in the City of Angels thingk?

And Will would you happen to have the possiblity of having a hand in this since your Burbank area would be affected?

I am still somewhat in and out of the issue. I like the idea of LA separating itself a bit because let's face it, this is one big city.

Since the major politicians are suddenly trying to keep LA together I will admit it makes me a bit wary. How will this look for Hahn if nearly half his jurisdiction released itself from his grasp?

Who knows though. I know it wouldn't be easy for the Valley especially with that gawd awful name of Camelot they think they want to name it. Heh I am trying to go tosome of these meetings and checking out what is going on and such and see the kinda reactions the people have in my area to the possible plit.

Enough about me......thoughts?

Nice post total Sojourner. Heh.

I'm pretty oblivious to all this and I do my best to avoid the Valley.

My only opinion on the matter is that if they do re-name, it should be named after porn, somehow.

I think a Native American name for the valley is in order. Something like "Breaking Wind" has a nice ring to it. "The Ass of Hollywood, where films are really made" might work.

"The place where the cheap Angelino's live," could be our motto.

Being the ever suspicious person that I am, I figure whether or not we stay as part of LA or become our own city, the politicians will find a way to screw us anyway, so I have no real strong feelings about it. Its like the 213 and 818 area code, then we get 323 and 310 and on and on it goes.

It seems that unless we get a lot of LA's facilities and equiptment we are going to have to pay for a shit load of new things to be our own city. So I figure whoever is really behind this move has a brother in the business of selling whatever the new city would have to purchase and THAT is the real reason for wanting the change.

The Valley is a lot more conservative, politically, so it would be nice to live in a city without the wackjob's with whom we are saddled with at voting time, that live over the hill.
