Thanks Tony. I know we tend to disagree with each other in here, but I sense that you're good people, and Voltes too. If there were more like the two of you on this earth, we would all be better off.

Do the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton. It will ravage your money for not much of an experience, but I still had fun.
And avoid the Romulan Ale at Quark's Bar. The blue food coloring they use in the booze to make it change color will fuck with your doctor in the coming days if required to give a urine test.
I spend way too much time in Vegas.
I am really Devin:

Tony, I just noticed this thread now. Anyway, Tony and his parents are staying at the Monte Carlo where I work so that's pretty cool. I'll be giving them a tour of the casino and showing them where I work. Since I get off work at midnight, Tony can hang around in my office if he wants to; then we could catch a movie at the Showcase cinemas which is right across from Monte Carlo. There's really not much a teenager can do in this town, except for, maybe, Gameworks. Looking forward to meeting you Tony.

Will you be stopping at DIA (Denver International) for a plane change? Let me know, and perhaps I could work in a drive out to see you.

Blo, I go to Denver every summer, dunno when it's gonna happen this summer. But if you want I could always give you info when I get it.

I haven't met a single chewer ... well, except for Xymog ... but he and I have known each other for over two decades. (e-mail me for all the dirt on Xy....boy, have I got tales. Of course, he has none on me... wink )
I had the opportunity to meet another chewer who had a lay-over, but my day exploded, and I wasn't able to make it out to the airport. I regret that.
You let me know with enough advance time, and I'll make it happen.

the Star Trek thing is pretty cool. the Speed roller coaster at the Sahara is worth a spin, as is the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere (the coaster is lame though). get a cab though, they're a hike from the Monte Carlo. the coaster at New York New York isn't bad, just don't sit in the back or you're in for a rough ride. the motion rides at Excalibur and the Luxor aren't that great, but the Luxor has a good arcade (as does NYNY). the elevator ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris ain't worth 9 bucks. the park behind MGM Grand has a couple of cool rides. the Circus Circus indoor coaster isn't bad, but that hotel is generally loaded with screaming children and people whose first language is not English.
the EFX show at MGM (featuring Rick Springfield!!) is also worth seeing, definitely more than most of the other shows i've seen in Vegas. Mystere is pretty decent. all the shows have an inherent cheese factor though, so fair warning

Wow Dave, you've pretty much experienced the entertainment venues here in Sin City. I live here, but the only shows I've seen here is Lance Burton (I work at MC so it's free for me) and the Ceasar's Magical Empire Dinner/Tour/Show (also free because of comps). My favorite ride is the Big Shot. The NYNY coaster's not bad either. But my favorite coaster is down in Primm (Buffalo Bill's Casino's The Desperado). It used to be the highest roller coaster in the world (I think the record was beaten by a coaster in Japan or China). The 200+ foot drop is needless to say an exhilirating experience.

Vegas is *ahem* fun. Go to the CES show if you can, you'll see what I mean.
I went to the Star Trek Experience the first week it was open a few years ago...really really really cool! Beaming onto the deck of the Enterprise is something of a curious thrill. It's not so much the "ride" as it is the whole experience of being submerged into a "set" that we've all come to know so well. A real treat. Plus the museum along the walk/waitway is pretty neato too!

Voltes V vs Voltron:
Wow Dave, you've pretty much experienced the entertainment venues here in Sin City. heh heh... yeah, i cram a lot in during my visits out there. i didn't bother suggesting Crazy Horse Too and Olympic Garden, since i guess Tony doesn't make the cutoff age...
by the way, what do you do at the casino Voltes?
