ZARTAN BOOGIE
(Music - Murphy, words - Nunziata)

Fuckface is always changing, allegiance always in question
Screaming hogs rip up the marshlands, alligators up in arms
Can’t seem to control his cronies, chameleon think he’s the bees knees
It’s no wonder the commander keeps his works on a separate ledger

Fuckface’s insanely jealous, chrome dome’s about to lose his cool
Mindbender’s on the job now, Frenchie’s got to watch his back
The snake crew is taking heat now, got to trust the man with no face
Zartan’s on the clock, it’s time to boogie

Fuckface controls the chaos, puppetmaster pulling the strings
Put the serpent king to pasture, has the ninja on speed dial
Springfield was only the beginning, dreadnoks are aching for blood
Zartan’s on the clock, it’s time to boogie

Drums: Makarewicz
Guitar: Murphy
Vocals & Keys: Nunziata

Please listen to this a few times before you post about it. It will take at least two hearings before your brain stops asking "What the hell was that?", so plan accordingly.

It's a very bizarre little tune, but a good one.

Don't get what's so weird about this one. Just a fairly good song. Seems pretty normal to me.

Can I use that on the album cover?

I gave the song 3 listens and I'm really digging it. It's wierd but its that right kind of wierd. The good kind of wierd that sticks in your brain. I dig the song for that reason because its wierdness is what makes it good for me.

I really dig the guitar work and drums in this song quite a bit. Great job Guys!!

I like how this turned out. I also like that I baffled Steve with my drumming.

The guitar part is particularly great on this track. This is a fun little song. Weird? Probably, but the melody is infectious enough that the crazy lyrics don't stick out like a sore thumb.

Fuckface has some issues.

Musically, I think this is really accessible - and probably the catchiest Nightsticks tune I've heard. The lyrics are weird, but that comes as no surprise.

I love this song. The guitar gets some love here. And the lyrics, well, let's just say that they don't let you down.

I wouldn't say weird at all, I really liked it. One of my favorites so far second only to "The One You Want", but that's a Package tune. I particularly enjoyed the guitar and the rapid-paced lyrics. Definitely keep exploring new areas and musical styles, it works well for you. Sorry I don't have any more technical input, I'm not a musician, but as a music fan, I'd say it's one of your best.

Nick, I'm gonna make this easy on myself. I read all the threads and links on all the music you guys have put out. What is your favorite cd of all? Based on your recommendation, I'll purchase one. Unheard first. Going at it fresh.

I only listened to a few songs from The Lucky Nightsticks, I think it was, but that was way before my puter took a dive. I'm too lazy to velcro 'em to a flat panel. Heh...

Honestly... wait a couple of weeks. LEVITATOR will be available and it's the best thing we've done. Very cohesive, pretty damn tight, and it has a "feel" to it. Our most confident stuff, and it's pretty damn accessible.

I love the break after the second stanza. I love the way the drums don't let you relax, they really drive the piece. And the lyrics are inspired considering Zartan was the COOLEST bad guy Joe faced and was the coolest figure.

Holy hell, this song is genius.

The offbeat feeling of the lyrics are gold and make the brain feel good.

Hmmm.

There seems to be alot of arse-licking going on here.

Honestly, having listened to a couple of these tracks, the nicest thing I can say is...

Don't give up the day job.

I think you're way off base, Manchurian. http://www.sewerchewers.com/images/flags/flag4.gif. Garbage like Barenaked ladies and Coldplay make millions, yet a talented and ambitious band like this plays small venues. I can't honestly say i liked every song I've listened to, but there is ambition in each one. that's more than one can say for The Darkness.

Ambition is admirable, and it will keep me listening.

First off we can all agree that the darkness suck.

As for any song that uses Mindbender and shit in it I am all for it. My girlfriend caught me and my buds watching the GI Joe dvd that came out recently and she called me

"A fucking bunch of disconnected retarded nerds with no basis in reality who are wasting their lives!"

http://www.sewerchewers.com/images/flags/flag10.gif

What a dumb bitch.

Zartan ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I lost my old figure though. I don't think the new ones are any good to be honest.

I love these lame diversionary tactics.

"Maybe if we act like we like his music he won't suspect us..."

or...

"Maybe it'll get his goat if we bash it."

The flipside is that you can comb these forums weekly to find the new aliases of Scorched Planet trolls. They can't help themselves.

Then...ban away.
