Starsky and Hutch

I wasn't sure where to put this, but seeing how Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller seem pretty hellbent on making, I was wondering how it'd fare. I was watching the show on cable last night, and to me, seeing Wilson and Stiller, and especially with Snoop as Huggy Bear, would be some sort of parody self referencing Charlie's Angels style movie, as opposed to the hard edge the show had. And that'd kinda suck to me. I'd like to possibly see Jason Lee maybe as Starsky, because he can do the comic edge, and the loudmouth, and he did well in a serious role in Almost Famous. I'm not sure about Hutch though. Any ideas?

I am watching this like a hawk.
But last I heard it was going to be Stiller as Starsky, David Duchovny as Hutch, and Chris Rock as Huggy Bear. Some sources are still listing Vince Vaughn as Hutch.
There's no doubt in my mind that Stiller will make a great Starsky. But I can't think of any modern actors that look or act anything like David Soul. If I had to pick from the actors named already, I'd pick Duchovny for Hutch. And Snoop would make a much better Huggy Bear.
None of this is anywhere near solid yet, though. Still no script. And if you read Coming Attractions page on the project, it sounds a bit like David Soul is opposed to this project happening without him.
But...this could be very, very cool if everything comes together right.
