www.tvguide.com (http://www.tvguide.com) has the Escape From New York poster as the cover page (Tag line: The End? Ring in the New Millenium with our apocolyptic movie picks.) with cute little cartoon snowflakes falling over it.
It's sooooo cuuute!

I believe something is bad wrong with TV Guide. Bad covers are a common thing for them now. I cracked up when I saw Michael Jackson with facial hair.

I'd like to be the first to say, "Happy New Year!" I hope you're having fun. I hope you're swell. I hope you have a good time.
Here's to hoping that movies don't suck this year.
Cheers. http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/smile.gif

And another thing. I like the t-shirts, guys. I'll buy one from ya at the Dragon*Con.
In the meantime, I'm gonna try to figure out how I can use my brother's scanner, these iron-on paper thingies, and your logo, to make a DJEvil shirt. I wanna make a zombie wearing headphones, working a turntable and soundboard. It'd say, "DJEvil, as seen on C.H.U.D." At the bottom, it'd say, "Neener."
You wouldn't sue, would ya?

More Randomness: Spent NYE with Bravo on in the background. Highly reccomend Cirque Du Soleil: Quidam. http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/piste/quidam/
John Gilkey & The Circus of the Sun just keep getting better and better. And whoever directed/edited/shot this piece should get awards galore. It was BEYOOTIFUL. Especially the ariel dream sequence in red silk by Isabelle Chassé. Stage design, music, costumes...all of it comes together phenomenally with the physical talent and skill.
For those who have never seen one of their productions, imagine the works of Michael Parkes come to life. The acts are surreal dreamscapes that turn your eyes inside out.
I highly reccomend catching this one.

You should have seen Quidam live. They only tour every 2 years with a new show each time. They were in Atlanta over a year ago with that one. It was amazing. Only about 6 months till the next one.

Random stuff:
I was on my high school's senior class video team. Through the whole thing, I got a minimum amount of input. My big moment came at the end, when I made a "musical montage," using the Fatboy Slim song, "The Rockefeller Skank." It was cool. Through the song, it would switch from some students dancing, to the dance scene at the beginning of Austin Powers. Then, to cheerleaders, over to the Ferris Bueller dance scene. The band marching on time to the song, over to the Monty Python & the Holy Grail "Camelot" number. From the prom over to Beavis and Butthead on the dance floor under the disco ball. It was cool.

Your brain is this hyper-kinetic, and you're either still in high school or just graduated?
Son...there's only one place for you to go now. The US Army Pyschological Warfare Division.

A random thought ...
It's inevitable that 20th Century Fox must change their name. Will they be known as just "Fox"? Or will they take the easy road and rename themselves "21st Century Fox"?
Perhaps we CHUDders could help them arrive at the perfect studio name...
Let's create a new brandname!
Coyote
01-03-2000, 02:20 PM
Can't be called Fox. You don't want to tie the film side in with the TV side. You'd have too many movies canceled just as they were starting to get good.
Adam McAllister
01-04-2000, 03:30 AM
Hate to rain on your parade, but I think I read a press release somewhere stating that the name will remain the same.
But...Increasing the digits (say 21st or 30th) would have been cool. Don't they say 30th Century Fox after Futurerama?
Joram Manka

lol.. I thought they were going to change it to 21st century fox! hmmm.. time to investigate!

Change it to "DJEvil's Movie Company of Terror." The name change alone will draw millions.
The logo will look the same (cept the name), but during the fanfare, you'll hear Pink Floyd screaming, "If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DON'T EAT YER MEAT?!?!
Damn, I'm good.
PsychoThespian

but those millions drawn by the name will stand, gawk, and run screaming into the night...
oh well... you'd get your 15 minutes of fame... and those trampled by the masses will be forced to stay, so hey! maybe you will get a following after all...

Gallager will be our leading man. Damn, I'm smooth.
PsychoThespian
01-05-2000, 12:29 PM
I can see the it already...
Gallager works fervently to pull off yet another off the wall comedy special... but during the middle of the performance is taken by dimensia and begins to believe that random audience members are infected with the watermelon syndrome and proceeds to go on a slam-the-skulls rampage...
pure cinematic genius.

Only if Carrot-Top is the first victim, and Gallagher then wears his bloodied scalp as a wig throughout the rest of the film.

With a big enough budget, we can kill off the entire pop star community (cept Bono, he's immortal...and cool). Yes, we'll get rid of Carrottop, too.
Also meeting their grisly demise will be:
Jan DeBont (duh)
Brittney Spears
Yul Brenner
Yanni
John Tesh
Tori Spelling
I just realized...this thing doesn't have a title...

Oh, wait, that title's taken.
In other news:
Got this from a mailing list I'm on.
A normally reliable source says he heard on the radio (and points out he hasn't been able to confirm) that Matt Damon proposed to Winnona Ryder. Wedding will be in spring.
Sorry, guys.

For the record, Winona's supposed to bare her chest onscreen in Girl, Interrupted.
I can't stand her, but I know some of you will cross one of the "must see" things off your list by seeing that film.
Enjoy!

Actually, the whole reason I want to see it is the departure by Jolie looks damn fun. When I first saw her, I thought she was fun to watch because she was exotic, but oh-well on the acting.
Now, I'm getting impressed.

Girl, Interrupted was actually suprisingly good. Jolie reinvented the word "hot". She is one incredibly attractive woman. And while Ryder isn't the greatest actress on the block, I felt she held her own in the film. But she doesn't bare her chest, she does get thrown in a bathtub with a white shirt on, which was quite nice.

Just someting to pass on to Psychothespian-I checked out that Spark thing, and you were right, everyone here should do this thing.
And just in case anyone cares, mine said:
"You kick ass!"
It scored me 65%
Resorseful, sly, guaranteed to get away with everything. A very high level of intelligence. Brave tedencies. Sinister and Violent 78% chance of prison. Heathy sense of humor. Fair and productive sense of morality. Hot Shot self-confidence.
This was exactly what I needed after a soul-crushing trip to NYC to talk with thimble d-ck (read: pee-pee) agents and "assistants" about my chances in my chosen field of screenwriter-"looking for a little validation and apparently COMING UP SHORT!"
So even though I know myself, and thus, know all of that stuff is Bantha Poo-Doo, it still feels good...that a stupid...on-line test...makes me feel bette...
Forget it.
