This was hilarious and origional and a true story and just a great movie all around!
This was way better than any film nominated for best picture,espescially better than Gladiator!!! This was soo cool! way better than i expected and funnier than any movie i saw all year! It wasn't that i wanna try to make jokes and make an ass of my writers funny, it was so subtly funny that it was hilarious! Damn this was a good movie! definatelly in my top ten! I was kinda weary because i didn't like Jerry Maguire, but this one was great!
Overall, not one thing wrong, amazingly funny and stylized greatness at the same time!

Well, I thought it was a little long. Near the end, you could just feel a touching scene coming on to end the film, but it took a while to get there. And when it did, I think it could've been sappier. I didn't like Jerry Maguire that much either, but I do appreciate sap value, and this movie could've used more considering they were dealing with the very "tragic" lives of rock stars.

I'm a huge Crowe fan. I think his gift is really that he is the Anti-Farrelly. The humor in his films is subtle, intelligent, and never mean spirited. His characters are multi-dimensional, and the humor is inherent in their personalities, as opposed to the current humiliation/gross-out trend (not that I don't enjoy it!).

In Almost Famous, he pretty well follows the vein of cinema he mines so very well - what is love, and how the hell can I find it and/or keep it? Like most of his films, it IS sentimental, but Crowe's deft touch keeps it from veering completely off into melodrama - although Imperator is right, it gets a bit sappy at times.

I would call it his best film, but I rate them all very highly.
