From the DRAFT thread:

Count Padyoola is next. But I offer Count (or whoever goes next) my next two picks in the draft for this selection and his 10th round pick. You would pick twice in a row the next two rounds with this trade.

On trading: I don't think it's chaos, I think it's part of the fun and the strategy. As long as the traders are aware and we note the transaction in a TRADE thread, I think it's cool and easy to follow. I'm on top of this DRAFT so I can calm the chaos.

I posted this in the DRAFT thread, but deleted it for inclusion here (until this thread is closed... which I'm sure it will be):

But that's the point... There will be no trades until after Round 5. There's already enough to keep track of. Unless, of course, Nick agrees to change The Rules (http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/Forum29/HTML/000001.html) midstream ("After 5 rounds, we'll allow trades or whatnot as long as they're one for one. Everyone has to end up with 10 human beings").

It would be unfair to those who have drafted to do such a trade now.

Once we get to Round 5 and trade time, a TRADE thread should of course be started.

You don't change rules AFTER things begin. It;s simply not fair. Did we learn nothing from the Florida chaos? http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/wink.gif

Somehow I just rushed over that part of Nick's rules. My bad. I was just trying to make some fun.

But I don't really understand why someone would make a one for one trade as it says in the rules. Why would I pick a girl and then trade them for a girl someone picked after me? Wouldn't I just pick that girl when it was my initial turn? It doesn't make sense. Trades have to be like the one I offered I think, which means they need to occur earlier than the 5th round to allow the time to speculate.

Hey, no problem... and the idea wasn't bad either. Running this like an NFL or NBA draft would have been kind fun. The only thing was that we were already into the drafting and it was simply too late and unfair to do something like that.

But don't fret. You got Jennifer Love. Not bad at all. She was on my list and represents the first woman from my Harem last year who has been drafted by another soul this time. http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/wink.gif

One for One works if you forget about a gem and someone gets him/her. That's your chance to deal. Plus, someone who picked early may be swayed by the fifth round and be willing to discard their early prize.

Okay, but the whole point of the time between the announcement that we were having the draft and the actual draft was to prepare your selections, to think about not only who you would take, but where you would take them, to make a depth chart. And if you did that, the only trades you can make by the rules aren't useful because you're not going to miss someone you want and you're not that likely to dump someone you picked early.

I didn't close it. Here.

Nick, I'm not trying to be a dick or disrupt the draft. I signed up under the rules and this game is totally fun as it is, as you set it up. Too much fun maybe and I'm going a little overboard and getting a little too competitive. But I just wanted to get these ideas out there so in future CHUD drafts it would be something that you guys keep in mind. This could be such a great tradition for CHUD and I'm just trying to think about ways to maximize the game's potential, ways to have it evolve.

Innocent X, your ideas are fine and NO ONE has any problem with your opinions or you expressing your excitement over the fun that is The Draft Nick created.

However, dont take things so personally or seriously. I was merely closing this thread so things wouldnt get clogged. We already have a Discussion thread.

With the zillions of threads we all visit on the CHUD boards and elsewhere, is it so wrong to want to ORGANIZE every now and then? http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/wink.gif

Carl, please don't put words in my mouth.

I have a big problem with Innocent expressing his excitement. Especially when he expresses it all over the keyboard while doing some "one handed typing."
