i'm just bitter that i'm 35. mmm. i would love an alternating high-low system for next year (draft 1 through number of participants, then max downto 1 again). this would mean having a low draft number would be good for grabbing the phenomenally contested top picks, but allow the crappier higher numbers to have multiple good picks earlier (and then trade down).

has anybody seen this work out in a fantasy draft before (i think a friend of mine did this with his football league last year).

I don't think the picks reflect a lack of vision, but it seems pretty obvious to me that if you've made a list and checked it twice (as I have) then you're gonna wanna take the pro football example and make sure that you first pick the big stars, the more well known "skill position" chicks that have the best chances of being taken in the early rounds and highest franchise potential. Then you can fill out the bottom of your draft choices with the "punters and kickers" of cinematic hoochery, the Catherine McCormacks and the Anne Parillauds, still skilled players no doubt, but ones that are probably still gonna be there in the 5th round.

But then again, I'm also a fan of the football team that made Ryan Leaf the #1 pick in the NFL, so take it as you like.
