Once upon a time there was a kickass little free ISP called FreeWWWeb that I used for a long time. Then they got bought out.
So I started using Worldspy. A month later, THEY get bought out. So I started using what Hastur uses, Lycos, which worked for her until recently, when it repeatedly crashes or disconnects, and has started playing ads for various companies. She threw a fit when Cisco started advertising during dialups, wait til she sees the Christian Children's Fund.
Any suggestions? We're not getting DSL til April, when we move.

I've heard somewhat good things about Mindspring (now Earthlink). Guy I know works in tech support there. They used to be CompuServe's backbone or some such and had good connects across the country. Haven't heard much about them in the last year or so, so YMMV.
DSL is worth it, believe me. Put your order in about a month before you move, then hound them incessantly the week before you move in. You'll be glad you did.

Why not try freedsl.com. It is free. I am not sure what areas they service, but it is worth a try.

freedsl.com is almost nowhere. For the MOST comprehensive DSL listing in the country, block-by-block availability, pricing, and user reviews, go to www.dslreports.com (http://www.dslreports.com)
And as far as ISPs go, email me.
I am Earthlink/Mindspring. First two months for free, no further commitment. Email me and we'll set you up a deal.
Of course, I cannot get me email right now, but send it anyway.

Due to the fact that I'm running a fever, I forgot about that Grendel. Oops.
