Beats me but i don't like to look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth. I was surprised to see that is was not on the boards along with the Trek shows and X-files. This show gives tv a good name. Its never a let down and constantly improves itself from season to season. How many shows can boast that??? As much as i love the "X-files", i happen to adore "Buffy" just a little more.
I will admit, when i first heard of this show i laughed, i thought, why would they make a show based on such an unfunny, shitty movie?
I of course and all of the naysayers were pleasantly surprised and now i'm addicted. From its excellent writting to it's underappreciated cast of actors, Buffy is the show to beat...Anyone's thoughts??

I'd like to see a show based on the John Tuturro hit, "Brain Donors." Watch it, and you'll see why.
Buffy's ok, I guess. I can't get up the courage to watch a full episode, though.

It's not a narrow view, it's just fear. http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/redface.gif

I've never watched Buffy.
Of course I never watch TV. DVD's & going to the theater take up all my viewing time.

Aside from Braves and Yankees games and Sportscenter, my sentiments echo LOWSHOT. TV forces you to watch too much stuff. Commercials and other stuff which eats away precious time (which could be spent venting here). Same with radio. DVD's and films are selective choices and empower us. The web also, nothing is forced to you on the web (except porn).
I'm just all in favor of anything that leaves us with the keys.

There is good in TV if u know where to look. try video taping your shows, u can fast forward through the commercials and u won't have to be so pretentious. I agree movies empower you and teach u, unlike sports, at least for me....... I LOVE TV!!!!!!

TV doesn't force u to do anything u don't want to do. TV doesn't hold a gun to your head....Lose the fear DJ, u might be surprised....

"Brain Donors" was a hilarious movie! Although i can't see how it would translate to tv...if done properly, maybe.

I agree with Nick. I think TV becomes addictive because you *have* watch your show every week. It's statistically proven that the average american watches 2 - 4 hours of Television A DAY. That's about 21 hours a week that you've just spent watching commerci- I mean shows. Think of all the cool things you could have been doing in that time, writing a screenplay or story, drawing or painting, talking to an old friend, hell you could be talking to us good folks at CHUD! I guess my opinions aren't for everyone, and I respect that, I just have a hard time wasting what little time I have, on mindless TV shows. That's not to say I don't like some TV shows, I just refuse to let myself get in a habit of watching them, and ignoring all the other possiblities life has to offer me.
That's just my two cents.

I have to agree that TV is addictive. I mean, I have to watch the Simpsons every day, threee times a day (which is how often it's on here), and I've seen almost every damn episode! A little ridiculous, yes, but I would much rather watch all the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' DVD's then sit through some shitty sitcoms.

I would rather watch the sit-coms over the last 4 (4-7) nightmare DVDs anyway. I will admit it, i love tv and enjoy watching it.
I will be the first ot agree their is crap on it, hell look at "Home Improvement" or "Veronica's Closet"! However, i couldn't imagine my life without some of my favorite shows, "CHEERS", BUFFY, SIMPSONS,FUTURAMA, STAR TREKS all except Voyager, "LAte Nite w/ Conan O'Brien" and all of the Warner Brothers cartoons. More recent additions, "The Upright Citizens Brigade" & "Strangers with Candy" both on Comedy Central and Lets not frown on those who like tv, this is not directed at anyone in particular, but when one says they don't watch tv that sounds very dubious and pretentious. but thats just me, i could be wroung. .....
