The weepy face is for me realizing that this is the second to last issue of the series. And for the events that take place in the pages of the book.

The one thing I have not liked is what has happened to Cassidy. I just feel like at the end of the War in the Sun, his character took a total 180 to change from being a jerk who is becoming a good guy to a flat out jerk. And I'm sorry, beating up a woman is NOT the worst thing you can do. I guess that maybe within the Preacher ethos it is, but I would figure raping and killing them is much worse.

in a lot of ways, i think ennis has that conundrum of how to resolve such a powerful series after writing so long... but yeah, i think cassidy's character was a suprising judas figure. but ennis does nod to how he set it up (or at least found a conveniently dubious statement cassidy made and retconned it into setting it up). have you been reading the punisher series that ennis and dillon are doing, devilf? it's also been a combination of violence and humor... without as much sex as in preacher, though. http://www.chud.com/board/ubbhtml/smile.gif

I think the Punisher series Ennis is doing is the single best interpretation of the character ever. You just can't take him too seriously.

I am very happy that it is only a miniseries. What I would hate to see is Ennis getting on the book as a gun for hire, losing interest and then turning out garbage for a year. I feel like that's what happened to Mark Waid on the Flash. (Don't know if anyone here read that book then.. or now)

i know that waid was doing his labor of love on the flash for a while, but i stopped reading it a few years back... right around the issue when the reverse flash came back pretending to be barry...

i like waid, but the flash was always pretty convoluted for such a staple dc series. now, then again, i am a fan of the legion of superheroes too and that series has a history of retconning and screwed up continuity.

minor spoiler alert for this issue:

okay. on topic: when cassidy sees the sun and say "hello you big blond bitch" or something to that effect, do you guys think he's talking to the sun or god?

Was Jesse committing suicide? I believe that he alerted Starr as to where he would be. Why stand in front of the Alamo and fight Cass for so long otherwise?

And willko, I love the Legion. In fact, I'll start a Legion thread! Right this minute!
