Tomorrow on SciFi started at 11am, Kolchak is on until 4pm. In the morning Im going to buy some blank tapes and tape em all. This is the moment ive been waiting for! OH BOY IM SO PSYCHED. IM PSYCHED LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER!

I liked the TV movies (Night Stalker & Night Strangler), never got a chance to watch the series... was the quality as high as the movies?

Yeah, more or less. They are on right now. The best part of any Kolchak are the voice over narratives.

Darren McGavin is fucking hilarious. Why was he sniffing that secretary's hair? :D

and is this series available on DVD?

McGavin is God. The perfect fit for Kolchak. He is the only actor I've ever written a fan letter to (in 2nd grade). Night Stalker was a huge part of my becoming a fan of the horror genre.

LOL. Again, thanks for informing us, man. Watching these was a treat. McGavin is terrific and the writing is very quick on its feet. Good stuff.

And to think that David Fincher was going to direct a KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER movie written by the same guy that wrote SE7EN but Disney pulled the plug. Considering that Disney was going to produce, pulling the plug was probably for the best.

Personally I'd love to have seen what they would have come up with and I've always though Kevin Spacey would be a good fit to play Kolchak.

and is this series available on DVD?There was a The Night Stalker/The Night Strangler Double Feature DVD put out by Anchor Bay with a movie on each side of the disc.

It looks like it's out of print as I haven't seen it anywhere. The only other option is to buy one of the fan-made sets on eBay.

Yeah, I filled 2 tapes with this off scifi in '96. Although, somehow I got most of the same stuff on both tapes. frown
