Join my hands, fiends and let's dance in circles around the 'House of 1000 Corpses' distribution news. Who got it? No one knows for sure.
One source says Palisades Entertainment (a made up group).
Another source says The Shooting Gallery.
Fangoria.com says they think it's Lions Gate.
'Round and 'round we go. Join me!

This is kinda getting ridiculous, I mean is it really such smut that no one wants to dirty their hands with it? Or is it just that Zombie is a pillar and won't let the distribution companies push his art around... Who knows I guess...
One thing I would like to know for sure is whether we are gonna get an October release regardless of going the route of professional distributors. Maybe Zombie will just sell it out of the back of his van and make it a true cult classic

RRotten:
One source says Palisades Entertainment (a made up group). When you say "made up", do you mean "fictional", "not real"? Because I was under the impression that Palisades Entertainment were the people who produced the remake of The Blob, put out uncut Brain Damage and are now producing Island Of Death with Nicholas Brendon.
Of course, that's all info scraped together from across the web - but they do exist, apparently.

Nic Brendon is destined to take over Wesley Eure's career.

I have a good idea for the poster. The tagline should definitely be "The motion picture event you've been waiting for, and waiting for, and wiating for, and waiting...". Or maybe it should just continuously say that all over the poster with no images at all.

It would make perfect sense for Lion's Gate to release it. Wasn't it created for the sole purpose of deflecting attention away from the parent company when the movie in question was likely to offend certain religious/political sensibilities? Bring it on! I'm sick of reading about it; let's see it already!

I want them just to release it with an NC-17 rating. I don't care who, when, where, why, and how I just WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Zombie will release it in slides? Or ViewFinder format....looks like it right now.

Palisades sounds like a production company with a piece of it. No idea about Lions Gate, but this'll keep happening until it just goes to tape.

Zombie should drive around the country, pick a different city each night, and just project the thing on the sides of buildings. That would create a hell of a buzz, plus people could watch the movie! Of course, they probably wouldn't be able to hear it. But hey, it's a start.

They have actually made this film, right? I mean, somebody has actually seen it from start to end and can confirm that it exists? Because we are rapidly entering the arena of the surreal here...

....... If you guys check out the MPAA official site, with lists the rating "R" for the flick, it says it is a Shooting Gallery film........... this is ridiculous............ why doesnīt Rob Zombie just release some sort of statement..... we are in August, the damn thing is supposed to come in October........ what the hell....... just end our misery for the love of GOD.......

....... AND, if you go to the IMDB they list an October 15th premiere for the movie...... ON VIDEO............ VIDEO PREMIERE.
The plot thickens......... whatever that means.....

Apparently, the official word is that "House Of 1000 Corpses" will debut in October at Venice Beach, California - where Rob Zombie will perform the movie live, using glove puppets. He will then tour the country, with his puppets, bringing joy and sunshine with him. Distribution will be handled by his car.

Okay, wrote to the fellas at Pete's about the contest, here's what they said:
I do not have any information at this time on Lions Gate's involvement in the film's release. I've been dealing directly with Rob Zombie's management team at "The Firm" and know only that a theatrical release is in the works.
We're thrilled to be working with Rob Zombie, Spencer Gifts and Geffen this Halloween and anticipate there'll be more information available on the film's distributor & concrete release date soon. We'll let you know as soon as we know.
So there you have it. They don't even know what's going on, and they're running the contest. So damn confusing...

Yeah, and the very same IMDB on which I of all people have a Filmography.
Means nothing.
By the way, I'm afraid some of you guys are setting yourselves up for a letdown of Phantom Menace proportions with this film.
Let it go... and let the film arrive. The more you "worry" about it and build it up the less it will deliver when you finally see it. Trust me.
