Do these stories have to be real, like the werewolf stories, or can they be made up. I hope they can be made up, because ghosts are fictional characters.

No, chenzzo, you have it all wrong. According to the handbook (see page 47, ch.3 paragraph 3), ghosts are considered real creatures, while it is you who is the fictional character. Sorry.
