I just picked up a used (but in excellent comdition) VHS copy of Hellraiser 3. It says "Unrated Version" on the box and the tape.
Is this the directors cut of the film or some other version?

Dude, you could have bought it on DVD at WalMart for like $6, and that the Canadian Price.

Buying the unrated VHS tape is the wise choice. The DVD picture is worse than the VHS tape and it is also pan and scan. The worst DVD transfer of all time in my opinion. There are scenes in the unrated VHS that weren't in the DVD or theatrical version. Scenes with Elliot Spencer in India buying the puzzle box. Elliot explaining to Joey where Pinhead came from. There is also nude dancing at the Boiler Room club. There is a scene of Joey watching people buy drugs. The massacre at the bar is more graphic too. It's still hard for me to watch HR3. The high point for me is Pinhead at the church. "I am the way." was suitably blasphemous.

Wait a second....I thought Hellraiser 3 was NOT available on DVD here in the US. I thought it was Japan only or some shit...
I have all the Hellraisers on DVD EXCEPT 3...

It's available in a Canadian version R1 from Lion's Gate.

No kidding...hmmm
But from what it sounds like my directors cut VHS is better, both in content and quality correct?
But having the entire series on DVD would be nice...

Just scored the laserdisc off ebay. LD rules them all...

Last month I picked up a copy of Army of Darkness, Evil Dead 2, and Tetsuo:The Iron Man on LD. They just look so fucking cool!

Nope. Especially if you're running them thru an image enhancer...

In the unrated version you clearly see there is bondage during the main sex scene, and it is quite a bit longer, and more aggressive. Makes a different impact I think.
My favorite line comes from Terry Farrell....
Priest:"Calm yourself child, there are no such things as demons"
Doors fly open and pinhead enters....
TF:"Then what the FUCK is that?"
Classic.
