Sideshow is doing busts and other collectables. Whoppdie do. I am getting a bit pissed off with this whole Bust buisness.....why pay fifty bucks for a head when for ten, you could get a fully arculated action figure? The only busts I have EVER thought about getting at the Battle Damaged Terminator from T3, the Buffy monsters and Faith. But they are so damned expensive, and to make it worse they are usually limited, do by the time you get the money saved to buy them they are out of stock anyway! I bet we wont even get a decent action figure line, the looks of it. Hopefully Van Helsing will at least get a decent and affordable merchandising push.

I think the attraction with busts is the detail they have. Figures nowadays are good, but they can't match that detail, however hard they try. Busts also look awesome as display pieces, especially the Marvel ones. But, I guess it's horses for courses. I dig busts and figures.

I agree with you mostly on the detail fett, but I think the best of mcfarlane definatly matches some of the best busts. I mean that queen alone was amazing. But its frustrating to see all those cool collectables, such as the faith bust, the alien stuff recently, that are just out of my price range at the moment.

I got liking busts when I saw the Snake Eyes life-size head come out. The detail is definitely getting there with the McF figures, but I personally don't consider them to be fully-articulate. The Alien Queen and the AvP figures are very stiff and can really only be moved in certain poses similar to the way they are placed in the box. Either way, most of those figures aren't quite meant to be in any setting but their original poses.

I do want the T-800 exo still.

Agreed, but compared to busts, you get more for your money. You get a full body, detail, acessories, base, etc for like one fifth of the price of busts.

True, and I have to agree that sometimes a figure looks cooler standing on the shelf compared to a bust. But a well-done bust can also be staggeringly cool under the right shelf-lights and conditions.

I think I just like both.

The Alien Queen is awesome. I had to stretch my food bill like crazy to pick that one up.

I bought the variant version (bottom) from <a href="http://www.graphittidesigns.com" target="_blank">Graphitti Designs.</a>

The Hellboy Action Figure from Graphitti Designs brings the seeker of the unknown to toy form. Standing approximately 8 inches tall, Hellboy is armed with a removable cloth trench coat, a replacement hand, sword, and a gun. As an added bonus, his tail moves.

Recommended for ages 8 and up.<img src="http://images.tfaw.com/coverst/med/b/bigblast_hellboy.jpg" alt="" />

From the blister card:
Hellboy™ World's Greatest Occult Detective!

Actually he's not a very good detective at all, but he can take a beating and he means well.

He was born in hell and brought to earth by Nazi mad scientists and the undead "Mad Monk" Rasputin in 1944. He looks like trouble and may actually be the Beast of the Apocalypse. For now, though, he's a good guy, protecting mankind from vampires, werewolves, cannibal hags, flying heads, human fat giants and assorted other nameless horrors.

He falls down a lot and often catches fire, but he's a good man (or boy) in a tight spot and we of the earth are happy to have him.
