Why the crankyface icon...?
Anywho, I haven't seen it yet, as every time I try to buy it it's sold out, however, it is hailed by many to be simply wonderful.
Hope that helps!

IIRC this is the movie with the hopping vampires.

I bought 'Mr. Vampire' earlier today (as well as Dark Water and the 'Twin Peaks' pilot) from www.pokerindustries.com
www.aznfilms.com has it now too (and cheaper) but they didn't have 'Twin Peaks' so I strayed from them.

a classic.
fair warning though, it's actually more of an action-comedy than a horror movie, and looks at the Chinese vampire mythology rather than the traditional vampire lore.

Hi-lar-rious stuff. If you like it, try Samo Hung's Encounter Of The Spooky Kind as well. Very slapstick, very silly, but still breathtaking in their own way. Kind of like Jackie Chan comedy versions of Abbot & Costello Meet... pictures is maybe the best description of them that I can muster...

What Strax said. Mr Vampire and Close Encounters of the Spooky Kind are hilarious martial arts horror comedies. You won't be scared, but you will see some of the freakiest monsters ever commited to film. And, yes, Mr Vampire is based on Chinese vampire myths, so don't expect fangs and bats.

They're pretty okay movies!
I found them a little disappointing on both the martial arts level and on a horror level.
But of the two I liked Mr Vampire best.
Strangely enough, I found the very last scene in Encounters of the Spooky Kind the scariest whereas it was not even intended as such.
