i know that this is scheduled for release march 2002...however,they went back and are resooting (reshot?) a majority of the scenes because supposedly they just really blew...yeah,they definately couldve done betetr than rosenthal, the only reason they brought him back is the sheer fact that diehard fans would come flockiong (hopefully) because he directed the 2nd one...i am a die hard halloween fan,but after i heard the so-so story and the outcome of the finished product,he really doesnt sound like a sure bet...
it also has a dawsons creek cast, same as h20,however,this one is supposed to be one of the bloodiest if not the bloodiest in the series...hmmm,one can only hope this doesnt suck TOO bad...
tell me what you guys have heard about this...

Creature-Corner's seen the script...

And, word on the street, is that this film is worse than anything we can imagine. Utterly unwatchable. Damn, I think I'll go on a limb here and say that you might find more enjoyment in watching "Jason X" next year than "Hall8ween". That's crazy talk!

i cant help but love these movies, even tho they have tunred into a ripoff of the crap that scream invented, which is itself,a spofing of the films that halloween made famous...confusing...
i just hope they are refilming sall the rite scenes they need to..
almost liek in part 2 when carpenter went back to direct some of the shit rosenthal couldnt come through with...what is it with this guy?
at leats i head that the guy who plays micahel (brad loree) is one of the best since castle...maybe he can salvage somehting...
yeah, youre rite,i did read the script a while back, and it deosnt read iffy, and the ending i read was perplexing,if strange, and it definately leaves it open for a sequel

The 'Halloween' films will always be left open for sequels. One of the first things Akkad said after 'H2O' was released was that Michael will never die, and I'm sure as long as he has a breath left in his body he will continue to pollute the world with these horrendous "horror films".
Why is it that the 'Hellraiser' franchise, which has limitless posibilites for new storyliness, gets sent direct-to-video after three sequels, and 'Halloween' keeps getting theatrical releases no matter how much they're hated?
As for the latest news on the film, you can always go through the Corner's archives, there's a search link at the bottom of every page that you can use. Just so you know.
Oh, and the absolute latest rumor is that the re-shoots they're doing may remove Laurie Strode's death.

Ryan, where'd you hear this one was unwatchable? I read the original Larry Brand draft of the script myself, and it was completely unimaginative, dumb as dirt hack-work...I was a bit mystified when folks who had caught test screenings reported that the movie was quite entertaining, way better than expected, and only let down by a less than satisfying, anticlimactic denoument. Some even claimed that the shape had reclaimed a bit of the menace and mystique left for dead in most of the later sequels, and that the flick had a few good scares. I also heard Dimension was pretty pleased with the majority of the picture, and that the re-shoots were all focused on improving the slack ending...I would assume if it REALLY sucked that bad, they'd hold it off 'till next fall (or release it straight to video) rather than release it during the summer. Don't get me wrong, I don't have high expectations myself, but I was starting to think this one might at least be entertaining. So, what's the story according to your sources? Didn't someone rewrite that idiots script?

Capt'n - Test screenings, eh? I didn't know they had any for H8 yet...or maybe I did and chose to forget. Um, let's just say a close source to the production...
As for the story. Yeah, they did some rewrites but apparently not for the better. You know, I've heard so many conflicting reports: Strode dies/Strode doesn't die, Michele Williams has a cameo/She doesn't have a cameo...it makes my head hurt that so much talk revolves around what will undoubtedly be a big ol' steaming pile of shit.
