Just a reminder to all the LA Chewers, tickets for individual films went on sale today at 10am.

I've already got tickets to Paper Heart & In the Loop, but I'm sure I'll grab some other ones, too.
Anyone else going to check out some of this cool shit?

I went through the selections. Nothing is really grabbing me this year. Of course catching a show at the John Ansen Ford Theater is nice.

I'm going to be so pissed if I find out that you guys had a chance to see Bronson and didn't take it. Dying to see that one myself.

Yeah, Bronson is on my list, I'm just waiting to see if I can talk any of my friends into seeing it or if I have to go solo.

When is it? I'll go.
And I just found out Black Dynamite is playing at the John Ansen. Not sure about that one.

Saturday would be a lot better.
I'm down for Bronson.
EDIT: Still trying to figure out if I can pull some strings with someone I know who works on the festival, so I might either see a shitload of movies or just whatever I can afford.

They just added Big Fan to the lineup. Of course, it's at the same time as In the Loop, so I'm screwed, but the rest of you might want to jump on those tickets.
Roll call: Who's doing what and when? I'm sticking to Bronson and Big Fan on Saturday night.

I'm down for Bronson, but I wasn't sure if Tieman was getting tickets or we were to get our own tickets?

Sadly, I have plans most of this weekend. Alas.

There are no assigned seats, so get your own damn tickets, sucka!
I'm down for Saturday Bronson, too, but I'm going to 7p showing of In the Loop that day (which better be good, considering I'm missing out on Big Fan), then I need to drop my wife off at home before coming back for this (unless she changes her mind about two movies in one night), so you guys may have to hold a seat for me.

I did a doubleheader of BIG FAN and BRONSON tonight. Great combination. Had a blast with both of them. And BIG FAN featured a Q&A with Patton Oswalt afterwards, which was awesome. The dude can't not be funny as hell.
Big Fan was really good. A lot of similarities to Taxi Driver, mixed with the fanatic aspect of The Fan (which, I know, was horrendous). And like Patton said himself, it's one of those great movies that does not treat its audience like idiots. You can also definitely tell that it was written by the same guy who wrote The Wrestler (Robert Siegel, who directed as well).
Bronson was beautiful, frightening, and utterly brilliant, in my opinion. Just a powerhouse of a film.

I did the same double-feature - they were great. I kinda like how Big Fan's Staten Island seems as rundown and shitty as The Wrestler's Jersey.
And Oswalt's anecdotes about the room killed me.

The neighborhoods used in both movies are very similar IRL. Staten Island is Staten Island, but Jersey (where I am originally from) really runs the gamut.
I really wanted to ask Patton about jerking off under the blanket that belong to the real-life creep, but I held back.
Haha, I was going to ask if the lotion belonged to the dude, but I decided not to.

Saw Humpday today, which was another very solid movie. Afterwards, we got a Q&A with Duplass (the star), the DP, and the editor. Very interesting stuff.
Tomorrow, I think I am going to try to catch the Borat documentary.
