Horror Films You Vaguely Remember from Childhood

There's this horror film I saw when I was a kid and I only remember particular scenes and the basic premise of the movie. I've been trying to figure out the title for years and have had no luck figuring out what the name of the movie is. It's been bugging the hell out of me so I thought I'd throw out what I rememember from the film and see if it rings any bells for any of you other horror buffs.

Ok, to the best of my memory, it was an early 80's movie about a mummy or some type of mummy-like creature that killed people and collected from them some type of sphere or jewel. I think the creature levitated or floated around slowly, it never used it's legs to walk. Everytime it killed a victim, it would take the jewel like sphere from them and place it in some type of container with several holding spots in it. Once all the spheres were collected and all the holding spots filled, I remember a huge flash of white light and the mummy transforming into something. I can only remember the silhouette of the thing. That's basically it. One victim I remember was a girl wearing a necklace with the jewel on it. I'm guessing the creature was after stolen treasure from it's tomb or something.

I know it's a longshot, but does this plot ring a bell to anybody?
