The Original Uncut Classic?
That's false advertising. The original original cut is lost - the footage was destroyed. Such a freaking shame. I love this movie.
"Is it soup yet?"
Looks like a nice porting over of the LD contents with some new stuff - Bravo New Line!
Note to Rotten: mark Ordesky has been at New Line for years - he successfully sheparded the LOTR films - a feat for which he has been recently rewarded for with a BIG promotion over there.

I've never seen the whole of this film, mostly from the fact that it's banned in the UK, and while it was shown on cable, I only caught smidgens of it, so it'll be good to finally see the whole thing.
Interestingly, I was watching The Shocking Truth documentary last night, and Burr was talking about how New Line destroyed the film and made him look like an incompetant director, which seems to be a running theme I guess.

Yep, that's about the way it went down.
Ya gotta love Hollywood. Its a lot like an drunken, abusive father who beats on you and then spends the rest of the time apologizing and saying, "It will never happen again." Then BOOM!
Favorite scene:
Leatherface is in his room (the garage?), doing his "lessons" - which consists of him typing the word "FOOD" over and over into a 'speak-and-spell' -type device that displays a happy face on it's screen. He gets really frustrated that the machine keeps telling him that he's wrong.
Classic.

Nothing but love for TCM 3. Thank God it's finally coming. I've waited too long for bonus stuff on the movie.

Are they going to have the intact film on this, including all the "MPAA dont like it" footage that was cut (like the double sledgehammer)? And are they going to have the origional ending on here too (Ken Foree meets Excaliber)?
This is probobly my favorite TCM film, so Im really looking forward to seeing this.

Ummm...I guess you didn't read my first post.
The footage is gone. It doesn't exist anymore.
What you will get are 2 deleted scenes - the first involves the little girl's participation in the killing of the young guy. It was heavily re-edited to take her out as the MPAA was not to keen on a little girl serial murderer.
The second will be the original ending, which is presented in glorious VHS dubbed quality, because once again, that's all that exists. This footage is intercut with final existing footage to make up Burr and Schow's original ending. And it's more than Ken getting the chainsaw, a LOT more.
This film suffered a terrible fate at the hands of the MPAA and New Line. I'm just happy they're releasing it all, let alone with all the Laserdisc's great features (plus a few new ones).

The two commentaries on the laserdisc are simply worth the price of admission alone. Burr is brutally honest about the film, and how it came to be (by the time the Excalibur trailer was released not a frame of film was shot, IIRC).
Cannot wait.
