Probably not since Warner Brothers owns the rights to it in the States.

Why wait?

Just get an all-region player.

Why bother, here's the best part of the movie on a loop:

Some kind soul has posted the retrospective documentary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQTHondHauE) and commentary track (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWcDWnbqbPM). Usually I'd be against posting something like this, but I don't know when the Hell we'll get the SE dvd stateside.

id love for all of these people including stephen king would re-do this movie! I think now with technology and new effects--it would be better and scarier. But i still love this old one anyways!

I watched John Carpenter's Halloween a few months ago on the recently released blu ray, and to me it looked like a new movie. Granted, it isn't as FX driven as something like Creepshow, but with a new Creepshow blu ray on the horizon (http://www.amazon.com/Creepshow-Blu-ray-George-Romero/dp/B0021L9MJG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1251202383&sr=8-1), so I would give it another look then.

I would, however, like to see Romero and King do a new Creepshow collaboration to wash away the bad taste of Creepshow 3.
