So far, my new textbook for film class, Understanding Movies, does a pretty good, but not great analysis for how film generally works. Too bad about the photo choices, though. If seeing a poster for Last Holiday introducing DRAMA isn't awkward enough, Louis Giannett uses Soldier as an example to explain cinematography.
Soldier. Paul W.S. Anderson.
In a textbook titled Understanding Movies.
Also, in the introduction,He explains his reasons to use publicity photos from 'popular' movies because they are more 'clearer and detailed' and refuses to bother capturing images because they are 'hard to see'. Sheesh, whatever dude.

Wow, my very own blog. Cool.
For the newbies, you will see me almost every day on the boards, posting useless stuff that may or may not add to the discussion. ::shrugs:: I also happen to live in Blair, Nebraska (ie The Middle of Nowhere to most of you), where I'm currently a college student. And I happen to like film.
See ya around!
